Boa Vida Guest House — Hotel in Free State

I had a wonderful stay at Boa Vida Guesthouse, they will always be my first choice when visiting Bloemfontein. The rooms are comfortably equipped. Mini fridge with complimentary water, juice and soft drinks. Coffee (decent Nescafe classic), tea (five roses and rooibos), fresh milk and milk powder, sugar and sweeteners. Power outlets are easily accessible, bathrooms with everyday necessities and the shower is really clean. There is an ironing board in the room, and an iron is available on request. DSTV with a full bouquet and air conditioning. Rooms are very clean. Furniture is still well-maintained, clean and well cared for. I was booked for DBB. Their omelette is highly recommended for breakfast and the dinners are amazingly delicious, home-cooked meals with generous portions. You won’t find a better plate of home-cooked food elsewhere. At reception, you can buy everyday necessities such as toothbrushes, toothpastes, deodorants, perfumes or aftershaves, cigarettes, chips, sweets, painkillers, and many other small items. I originally scored this place 4 stars after my first stay. After my 2nd and 3rd stay it just got progressively worse. They are busy with renovations so the place is full of strangers working on the property. Fences are damaged and ineffective, walls are down, gates are left open. The rooms have no phones and there are no security gates on the windows on the ground floor next to damaged fences. I felt very unsafe here and the management team responded to my request for a 2nd floor room by telling me next time I come to Bloemfontein I must stay elsewhere. Best decision I made was to book at Boa Vida Guest house. From the time we arrived there till the time we left I cannot fault anything. The rooms are perfect and very clean. The gardens are superb as well as the other areas. Breakfasts were fantastic as well as the reception and services offered by Olivia and her staff. I will definitely being staying at Boa Vida on my return visits to Bloemfontein and can totally recommend Boa Vida Guesthouse to anyone looking for accommodation at affordable prices and excellent service and great facilities in Bloemfontein!
