Panarottis Mimosa Mall — Restaurant in Free State

We live remote in a tiny village high in the mountains of the eastern cape and dont get to go to big centres very often. Im vegan which makes eating in small farming villages rather complicated and frustrating. A few weeks ago we went to Bloemfontein to do a big non perishable shop. We had heard that Panarottis had vegan options so we went there for lunch. Well was I in for a treat! I was like a child in a sweet shop I did not know what to order, Im not used to there being even one item on the menu that I could eat, let alone having options! I was totally blown away. I ordered a pizza finding a dizzy freedom in not have to try and find an alternative to cheese so that the pizza was not dry. Maybe its because I dont get catered for as a rule, I was immensely impressed. The service we received was really friendly professional and incredibly quick. Our waitron was attentive and knowledgeable asking relevant and pertinent questions and making suggestions, giving me gluten free options as well. When the food came I was blown away its gotta be the best pizza base I have ever had. I thoroughly recommend this Panarottis. I normally try avoid franchise outlets as I find the food mass produced and very plastic. I may need to change my mind on this. Upon arrival I specifically asked for a table with a power supply, so that I can charge my laptop and work while waiting for the kids. 2 Tables where available, but neither of the power supplies was in working order. The staff did not offer to further assist and could not worry less.

Our waitress did not introduce herself and was not friendly at all (Yonela from her nametag). Food and drinks was quick and tasty. Table was not cleaned - all dirty glasses and plates stayed on the table untill I had to ask for take away containers that never arrived and I had to ask again. Major and LOUD discussions amongst staff was held at the till point right by our table - VERY noisy. No second drinks or anyhing else was offered.

The pizzas was really very good. But the service was slow. The waiter, his name was Thato or Thabo (if I remember correctly), never came to check on the table. We had to physically call him to bring a second pizza quite a while after finishing the first. And after finishing the second pizza for quite a while again, we had to call him to ask for the bill, but he never brought that. He just came to clean the table, and then he went to go stand and talk and clean glasses and such. So after sitting for another 15-20 minutes waiting for the bill we stood up to go pay. I decided to still give him a small tip out of decency, as I was also a waiter years ago. But if I ever go eat there again, then I want another waiter, and if they won't give another waiter, then he mustn't expect a tip again if the service...
