Alabama Spur — Restaurant in Free State

I was there on the 18&19 of February 2024.

The 18th was great . I came after 20:00 and they played Luther Vandross who is one of my favourites. They were cleaning up but didn't rush me.

On the 19th I came at about 17:00 but surprisingly it was a bit dull. I and the waitress didn't specify on the portion size and ended up being charged with a full portion of Schnitzel and prawn. I based my calculations on the R125.99 but the waitress brought R186 . I didn't have anything extra. Even though this was a takeaway the waitress had to pay for the R40 . I don't think this is fair. The food isn't that fresh that you have to charge this to the staff. I wish to get her number then when I get paid send her the R40.Unfortunately the situation didn't end well.

The food is a 3/5 . The icecream is definitely old. It was full of ice as if it's recycled icecream. The pecan nuts and the waffles are dry. The butternut was the best thing there. The sweet corn was bitter. It was like eating paper.

However before the bill kerfuffle the managers were great. The wait staff were great. The place is clean. Again if the restaurant sees this please contact me so we settle the difference when...

To Peter, Laurence(Management) and Sanet(Waiter)😁❤...okay so there's about 4 spurs in Bloemfontein🤔 and maaaanh ooh man, highly recommend this one right here. Hey, look, the management does a great job with their Waiters and kitchen stuff you know👌. Well cooked food according to how you want, as in ACCORDING TO WHAT YOU ASK FOR, are they not fast too? Darn they are! I mean you do t have to wait for long periods of time ⏲ 🙄 and I had to come back when it's like really busy just to see if this was their standard and guess what? 😱😱😱😃😃😃it is their standard👌👌😁😁 best spur in Bloemfontein. Well, guess what, I used the same Waiter Mrs Sanet and yes, there other 4 times I came here I had different Waiter, I mean they did a great job too but hey, they just got better. Thank you guys like that's a lot. I personally recommend this spur. I just wish they could share with other spurs how get their stuff to be so good. I am very upset. So one of the managers (Audrey) here tried to swindle me out of my money. My bill came up to R340.60c. We waited a good 45minutes or so for the meal & I when I requested that our waiter serve us with some tomato sauce, we got an empty bottle and all he could say was "it's almost klaar but there's still some"... Now time to pay the bill comes so I wasn't going to give a tip because of the bad service but I felt bad for not tipping so I wrote a tip for R10. Which makes the bill R350.60c. When I get home 20 minutes later & check my texts. I see the deduction as R380.60c so I call them and ask what's going on. Audrey casually calls me "buddy" and says I wrote the total as R380.60c so that's what he punched in. (A total lie because I wrote that total so I know what i wrote) I am very disappointed by what transpired today. My complaint isn't about the money, it's about the fraudulent behaviour of a senior member of staff nogal. Very...
