When we arrived the front desk was empty and nobody knew about us, a security guard reluctantly gave us a key to a room only when we showed proof of payment and the booking confirmation( this took about an hour because he wasn't allowed on the computer and there was no one who could help him). Then another person arrived and Then we were finally shown to a room that was clearly just emptied in a hurry, all the doors and windows were open the seats still showing sweat marks where the former occupants were sitting, the place stank of smoke. We considered leaving but it was 10pm and the kids were tired so we thought we will keep the booking and just deal with it instead of starting the search for accommodation again. || ||My little girl found a condom wrapper in her nightstand drawer and we found the condoms and cigarette butts all over the tiny balcony, we just ignored it to get the kids settled and to sleep. Then we tried to shower but there were no towels! Finding an employee we eventually got 3 towels, he didn’t have four to give us. And said the housekeeper will bring the other towel when she comes in the morning, so we shared towels. But alas in our two night stay the housekeeper never cleaned our room or brought towels it was just ridiculous. We stay in Pretoria every two weeks and usually use Airbnb and are always happy. I spent 5 hours trying to sleep through the noise of the party in the hotel while an unprepared night team couldn't resolve the issue. Their policy says they evict parties and people making excessive noise (see pic) This is not true I phoned the night staff the first time at 12am to ask their help in silencing the party in the halls and one of the rooms. They were completely untrained to handle this. The rooms have no noise suppression whatsoever and it's like living in a dorm or hospital room where there is constant conversation, shouting and doors banging closed. The manager and lone security guard tried. I don't blame them, but whoever leads them. I left the hotel at 5am. Look at the pictures of the clean/modern rooms on the website, consider the location, read their marketing nonsense...
Read moreWe booked online from booking.com. ||I called the hotel and spoke to receptionist to inform that we will be arriving after 8pm of which they didn't have a problem with. ||When my husband and I arrived there, the receptionists were having conversations amongst themselves while we are standing and waiting to hear from them. Only to find out that some lady with the name Cardish did double booking and the room we are supposed to sleep in has people inside. ||Imagine, driving from a different province and we paid online but when we arrive, we are informed that the room is occupied. Extremely unprofessional and disorganized..||||We had to sleep in the car and reported the matter to booking.com and was refunded the full amount. ||||I whatsapped Cardish because she said I must leave my banking details etc and till today, she has not responded nor apologized...
