The people saying this place is scary at night are scared of a good time and probably about 90 years old. Take no mind. Varsity Bakery in the day is a wonderful, cheerful place with good food at good prices and all the convenient snacks you could ask for. They also have tables and chairs so you can sit and have a pleasant meal with some friends or family. At night, Varsity Bakery slips into a whole other dimension. If you've been to the strip you know exactly what I'm talking about and if your haven't been, then you should experience this. All the places around you are filled with this electric energy and everyone is dancing and drinking and having a good time. Varsity Bakery is both a safe haven and a trap. Of course, it still has all of the good food and snacks and everything, but something is different. Just to try it, sit on a bench outside Varsity Bakery and notice that you immediately get very deep into your feels. There's something about this place that exudes so much nostalgic energy and everyone feels it. Go experience this place....

This place used to have the best buffalo wings in Pretoria. I have however not enjoyed the meals and the service recently. I uses to order hot wings which are basted in Buffalo wing sauce, suddenly the wings are either dry and ivercompensated with batter (its like eating spicy magwinya/vetkoek). They had a ordering issue through mr delivery which they say they were aware of when I contacted them, yet they did not express their regret nor concern to the customer. I gave them ome last chance amd ordered my usual (hot buffalp wings) and I was so disappointed. The sauce was completely changed, it was horrible. How do you change items or recipes in your menu and not change the name to let your customers know what to expect. I have given up now and withdrawing my support. I ordered a sub when i went there yesterday and the 2 ladies at the counter didn’t give me a receipt. when i went to collect my order (10 minutes after i placed it), they insisted i was lying about not getting a slip, said they had never seen me place the order, and refused to give me the food that i paid for, even though i had proof of payment and the order i placed was ready on the counter in front of them. They were both loud, rude and caused a scene to the point where other customers in the restaurant who had seen me place the order intervened. As the exchange escalated, they realised their mistake and rudely handed me my order....
