Protea Guest House — Hotel in George

I was not happy with the reception from the owner. She hardly answered emails, when we arrived said she did not know we had kids despite emails - also said our kids must not be noisy or jump or walk around too much as there are other guests! There is NO onsite parking but did promise to allow us to use the garage but said no when we arrived as her kids were doing something in it. We asked for an early breakfast which she said she couldnt do and didnt bother to send us with not even a muffin or juice although we paid for this! We were supposed to return the following week for a night but we did not and drove another 5 hours to PE for accommodation! ...

We stayed here overnight and i will come back anytime. This could potentially become my goto place to stay whenever i come to Knysna. The Loerie Lodge is a 2 bedroom chalet that is spacious and comfortable. A deep wide porch makes you feel like you are relaxing deep in the forest with overhanging trees and shrubs. The view of the Knysna Heads are beautiful and the birds singing in the trees around you just adds to the peace and quiet. Due to covid 19 they don't offer breakfast anymore but the coffee shops are a minute away from the accommodation. Really...

Yes, the place has a lovely view, and a great location in the trees, but there are some aspects that need improvement.||The bathroom for the twin room is tiny and cramped, with the smallest shower I've ever experienced!||The stairs going up to the cottage are very steep, and I found it extremely to climb the stairs.
