The Place | Muizenberg — Hotel in Muizenberg

We stayed at The Place in Muizenberg for one night on 24 May 2024. Upon arrival at around 14h40 we were warmly welcomed by the lovely and friendly Nadine, who showed us to our self-catering unit. The property provided us with our own entrance, and we appreciated the safe, on=site parking. The convenience of having a remote for the gate allowed us to come and go as we pleased. The unit itself was of an acceptable size, offering enough room for 2 people to move around comfortably. The linen & towels were clean & fresh, and all the furniture, fittings, a crockery were in good condition if not brand new. However, the shower needs some attention. The hot water took AGES to come through, & when it did, it ran inconsistently, alternating between running & stopping. Additionally, I was not fond of the shower curtain, & there was no shelf (anywhere in the bathroom) to place toiletries on, which was inconvenient. Also no place to hang towels in bathroom. Compare to other BNB I stayed during this 2 week trip, The Place | Muizenberg is definitely the best. The reason being

It reminds me of the house I grew up in at Durban, the floor, door lock, window, shower …etc.

The bed is very supportive, yet soft.

The breakfast is top notch, way better than Wimpy and SPUR, I would visit again just for their breakfast.

WIFI is consistent, Netflix, Yoube runs smoothly. Despite that smart TV had to restore to initial setting once to clear the cache and storage.

It’s clean Not to mention the host and service crews are friendly and helpful.

All 5 start except Location, if you are an early bird or deep sleeper, then the 5 am train horn probably wouldn’t...
