Overall a good experience at this dumpling establishment. Firstly the good: 1. They have a wide variety of dumplings with a nice range in flavors to try from. 2. They have a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options, much bigger then I've seen at other dumpling restaurants. 3. Their hot beverages are great. 4. The staff are very friendly, Moses- the owner, was very attentive and helpful. Our order was mixed up and upon bringing it to his attention, the confusion was quickly resolved and he gave us additional dumplings to rectify the mistake. What I would recommend: Because there are so many options to try from, I recommend the Sharing medley so you can try multiple options, namely: The Pork & chive, Pork + cabbage & spring onion, Beef + sechuan pepper + cabbage +carrots, Spicy chicken and teriyaki. The only negative point there is when you opt for the Sharing medley is that, all the dumplings are mixed, not labeled or separated so you have to have a keen sense of taste to identify what you ordered which can be troublesome because that's how my order was mixed up. I would also HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE WONTON SOUP. This dish was by far my favorite, stick with any pork option, the chicken option doesn't hold up as well. I had the Pork & spring onion. It was extremely tasty. I would not recommend anything with Coriander or celery in the dumplings, in my opinion I've found that they overpower the meat. Also the pork bao buns are okay, the filling has a nutty taste, very different from what I'm used to but interesting nonetheless 6/10. Other points to note: 1. There is no parking lot nearby, only street parking. 2. They have a beautiful outdoor area in the back. 3. They have a freezer filled with their frozen dumplings you can buy and make at home. 4. Non halaal. 5. Because they close at 9pm, if you after 8pm, as I did once, they only offer takeaway.

Dimples Dumplings are devine! Fresh and delicious little pillows of pastry stuffed with all manner of tasty fillings. I would highly recommend you go for the food, but also go with a degree of patience with regards to speedy service. The dumplings are crafted with care, and good food takes time to prepare. Depending on the day, the menu and selection of dumplings and bao available varies. You can see that the management and staff are well meaning and have put in a lot of effort to make it a bustling restaurant. Sadly they need at least one more server on the weekends when things get busy as drinks and additions to the orders often get delayed. Our bill has also been wrong on both occasions we've been there, so be sure to check yours. Over all a super little place to enjoy scrumptious dumplings if you're not in a rush, or are planning to order takeaways in advance.

I have been hearing good things about Dimples and on Saturday evening, decided to sample their dumplings. I found the little shop down a fascinating street in Muizenberg that I have never seen before. It did not take long before the empty shop was buzzing with people, popping in to collect takeaways or sit in the window and enjoy a meal. I chose the steamed Bao bun filled with cabbage, carrot and Shitake Wood ear mushrooms. The Bao is very good and very filling but needs a sauce so I made my own Soya, ginger, chilli and honey dressing. I also chose a packet of frozen boiled dumplings filled with chicken, cabbage and mushroom. I cooked them for a few minutes in boiling water and they were absolutely delicious just on their own. My only concern was the number of patrons walking out via the kitchen without masks.

Kenilworth branch. Food: The dumplings and bao were good BUT my friend and I went around noon for ramen and general tso chicken but the waiters told us that none of the mains were ready yet. We decided to power through and just have dumplings and bao. About an hour later, a tourist family who had made a reservation came to the restaurant and were told the same as we were - the mains weren’t ready yet. They looked as confused and disappointed as we were.

Service: the servers were friendly. The gentleman who started off as our waiter wasn’t very attentive and was watching videos on his phone quite loudly. My friend flagged down the other waiter and asked her if she could put on some music to drown him out, but the waitress told us that the manager had taken the speakers! What a foolish decision. But she asked the other waiter to stop playing videos and then she took over tending to our table. She was very nice. We also asked her to switch on the lights because the restaurant was quite dark even though it was the middle of the day. The space felt much nicer after.

So, although the food was nice, it was too expensive to make a full meal with just dumplings and bao, so we left still a...
