From the moment we arrived at The Marine to the moment we checked out, everything was simply flawless. Although we only stayed one night, it felt like a complete experience in itself – one that left us truly wowed.||Check-in set the tone beautifully, with refreshing welcome drinks, a hot towel, and the warmest of greetings. The welcome host even wished us a belated birthday and anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch. She then gave us a personal tour of the hotel, pointing out the facilities, the best times to spot whales, and even letting us know that if we heard a bell, it meant one had been sighted. This attention to detail instantly made us feel at home.||Our room was fantastic – complete with a complimentary mini bar, welcome cakes, and even a thoughtful gift. Later, we enjoyed drinks at the bar accompanied by delicious homemade potato chips, before I tried the outdoor heated pool. Staff must have noticed how chilly I was when I got out, because that evening when we returned to our room, turn-down service included not only chocolates and water, but hot water bottles placed in the bed. Whether this was standard or a gesture of extra thoughtfulness, it was one of those small touches that makes a hotel stay unforgettable.||Housekeeping also went above and beyond – I had accidentally left out my shorts I needed for shark cage diving, and they kindly offered to dry them for me. By morning, they were returned in perfect condition.||Breakfast was another highlight. We were welcomed in early, giving us time to soak in the stunning views, and the spread itself was delicious with plenty of choice. Finally, on check-out, we were warmly thanked again and given a parting gift of beautifully presented nougat – a lovely way to end our stay.||Every single detail, no matter how small, was thought of and delivered with such care. The Marine truly is one of the world’s leading hotels – not just for its location and beauty, but for the genuine warmth and attention of its team.||We only wish we could have stayed longer, but one thing is certain – we will be back, and next time for much more than...
Read moreFirstly, i would like to say that this hotel has false advertising on their website, they rooms all look modern and new, at arrivals you receive a room that is not modern or new and does not even look like it does on their website, they have a few rooms that only look like the new modern rooms, but either than that if you book a premium room your chances are most likely to receive a room that looks like a normal Luxury suit room.
Secondly, the staff are so unfriendly, and they have a manager there that is called Melissa she is so disrespectful when dealing with clients. The staff are generally so unorganised and treat their guests the way they want. They dont have a standard that is maintained in the hotel on customer service. We in fact got accused of an exsiting damage in one the rooms we booked. The manager Melissa was unbelievably disrespectful towards us through the process of us dealing with her about the damage “that we made” After we were able to proof through images and videos at arrival that we had taken, we proofed that the damage was already existing, which with no doubt she was aware of it, she bluntly apologise after we asked for an apology.
Lastly, for a 5 star hotel this hotel should not be rated 5 star they maintance in their rooms is shocking i mean the room i had the carpet had a smell of sweat to it and when house keeping cleans up the room they do the minimum. The flooring of the hotel Creaks the whole time when you walk on it. I get that it is a old hotel but maintenance is not an excuse and hygiene as well is not an excuse.
It is nice to be on holiday and get treated with warmness and respect from all the staff and welcomed. This hotel is definitely not...
