The macaroni and cheese balls, ordered for my son were unexpectedly sour, purportedly due to an excessive amount of nutmeg incorporated into the recipe. The complimentary bread provided was excessively dry, resembling the aridity of a desert, and despite liberal application of butter, its palatability could not be salvaged.
As for my own selection, the "meat appreciation platter," it included the aforementioned two acrid macaroni and cheese balls, bone marrow accompanied by a tangy onion relish, chilled onion rings, and three portions of unseasoned steak cuts. I must also note that the menu explicitly indicated that this platter would be served with a delectable cheesy garlic roll. However, instead, I received two meager pieces of desiccated bread, identical to the aforementioned complimentary bread. When I inquired about this discrepancy, I was informed that it was a typographical error, but that they would attempt to rectify the situation. Alas, the resulting "cheesy garlic bread" was the most unsatisfactory rendition I have ever encountered. It consisted primarily of the gratis "bolletjies" bread, scarcely adorned with minuscule cheese fragments, accompanied by a dollop of cream cheese (which was also sour) and garnished with crispy onions.
