Karibu in Paternoster — Hotel in Saldanha Bay Local Municipality

Cold, wet and mouldy home. Very close to the main road and taxi pick up locations so is very noisy, in the early evening. We stayed one night (we had booked 4 nights) and left as soon as we could the next morning. The homeowner is aware of the mould issue and offered to have it cleaned, so that we would stay, which we refused. The property manager was great and got us moved to new accommodation right across the road, the next morning. Other issues that we noticed - the shower in the main bathroom doesn't drain properly and floods the area fairly quickly - so no long showers here. The sink in the kitchen smelt of fish which was very off-putting. The scullery smells damp and of dirty rubber seals. We were very happy to be moved to a much better property, but our stay was ruined with such a bad start. Avoid this property if you can and rather book De Patrenush, right...

What a wonderful stay! Gaby is an incredible host who will go out of her way for her guests, and is a wealth of knowledge on the happenings of the west coast. The unit is walking distance from the beach and restaurants and has everything needed for self-catering.
