Erinvale Estate Hotel and Spa — Hotel in Somerset West

My wedding was held at Erinvale Hotel and some of our guests including our family stayed at the hotel. What an incredible experience! My husband and I, our friends, family and even the the wedding vendors (the florist and decor, the lady who made our wedding cake and the decor hire companies) have nothing but praise for the beautiful venue, the incredibly efficient, warm and welcoming staff, the delicious food and amazing experience that we had there. If I could give them a 10 out of 5 stars, I would! Starting with Jenice and the team at reservations who were so on top of the many changes to our accommodation bookings and thought through even the small details like putting my parents in a room with easy access to our car (my Mom needs wheelchair assistance to move around), they made the booking of our accommodation an absolute breeze. Next is Jean, the events co-ordinator extraordinaire at Erinvale who is so incredibly energetic, solutions orientated, flexible, detail orientated and amazingly accommodating. He thought of things I hadn't thought of and anticipated the unexpected and always just made a plan. What a pleasure to know that someone as capable as him was co-ordinating everything behind the scenes and liaising with the wedding vendors on the day! He and the F&B manager Haan are the dream team! Next to be mentioned is the food and beverage manager Haan and his team in the banqueting hall who set up the venue, served our guests and made us feel like we were at a royal gala event. Everything ran perfectly on schedule and no one's wine glass was ever left empty. What an incredibly efficient and well trained team! Our guests were so beautifully taken care of. They all spoke glowingly of the service on the evening and how warm and friendly everyone was to us. The food was also absolutely delicious too - Chef Stefan and his team created the most delectable and palate pleasing menu. It was beautifully presented and he was so accommodating to some of the dietary requirements of my guests and even offered a special menu for the kids who attended which they loved! I have to also mention that every staff member we encountered from the team on reception, the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant, the cleaning and house keeping team, the porters who assisted us were efficient, friendly and kind. Housekeeping even steamed my wedding dress and veil beautifully for me which I was so grateful for. The rooms were lovely, the beds immaculate and comfortable and the gardens exquisite.. A Truly Unforgettable Anniversary Stay at Erinvale Hotel & Spa!

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending our anniversary night at Erinvale Hotel & Spa on 31 May 2025, and from check-in to check-out, our experience was nothing short of exceptional.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Derango, who escorted us to our room and took the time to point out all the incredible details of the space. The room was absolutely stunning, and we couldn’t help but marvel at the beautiful doors and windows – a perfect touch to the already luxurious setting.

The highlight of our evening was the seven-course dinner at Stefan’s Restaurant. Each dish was an absolute delight, beautifully presented, and expertly explained by Lumpho and Gloria. Their warm, friendly service and in-depth knowledge of the menu made the dining experience even more special. It was evident that they truly take pride in what they do, and we felt well taken care of throughout the meal.

The following morning, Kyle greeted us with a friendly smile at breakfast in the Bistro Restaurant. The breakfast spread was fantastic, with a wide range of options to suit all tastes. We particularly enjoyed the diverse offerings and the atmosphere of the dining area.

Before we checked out, we had the pleasure of a site inspection with Kyle, which gave us a deeper appreciation of the hotel’s facilities. From the spa and wine offerings to the stunning rooms and picturesque surroundings, it’s clear that Erinvale is a destination that has it all.

We highly recommend Erinvale Hotel & Spa not only for its breathtaking accommodations, outstanding cuisine, and serene spa but most importantly for the exceptional service. The warmth and friendliness of the staff truly made our anniversary stay unforgettable.

I posted a very positive review before but after my experience last week I thought to replace it with this review instead:

My wife and I were in the mood for some romantic fine dining and since we have enjoyed pleasant evenings here before we gravitated to this restaurant. It was quite cold so we chose to sit inside. We were ushered to Skellig's Pub area and seated. Not a very romantic setting. Certainly not fine dining.

The waitress forgot to bring our bread basket. After we asked for it we eventually received it.

They forgot to bring my steak knife. Eventually, when I received one it was bent and more blunt than the bread knife. So I asked for another one and for another glass of wine. It took such a long time for the steak knife to arrive! By the time it did my meal was cold. So I asked for it to be warmed and if the glass of wine I ordered could be brought since I had not received it.

My wife decided to not eat her food while we wait for mine to be warmed since our goal was to enjoy a romantic evening eating out together. Needless to say, by the time my meal returned, my wife's meal was cold but at least we were now eating together - finally!

I asked a waiter if it would be too much trouble to bring me the glass of wine I had ordered twice now. This was the third time I asked for it.

After raising the matter with a manager of sorts, I was told that as compensation, I would not pay for the second glass of wine that they forgot to bring twice.
