The lobby is very nice. The staff is good, though compared to other hotels on this trip, a bit understaffed. In my limited interactions they understood my English well.||The room we had, double and two twins, was a generous size. The towels were not looking fresh. We requested more towels and the ones we got were nice, thick and very white. Kinda the opposite of what was in the room. There is a safe and a fridge. Lots of hanging space, but not too many hangers. The AC worked well. The place looked clean and well kept.||The beds were ok with nice linens. The pillows were small which was disappointing as the headboards were hard wood so sitting in bed was not comfortable. Which brings us to the chairs, only two and not super comfy. Once asleep, we slept fine.||The bathroom was nice even though it has the stupid sliding barn door. It is big and has a double sink. There is a shower, but no tub. Water pressure and temp were also good. It also had a nice auto flush toilet with all the clean and dry functions you could want. ||I walked past the gym and it looked very nice. But pay attention to their hours. They close relatively early. There is a pool, but I did not check it out. ||The reason this was not rated higher is that at this price point I had higher expectations. Overall not bad and I would consider...
Read moreNo a/c or heater during winter months. Checkin to my room feeling suffocated as it was extremely warm. Thermostat in the room showed 28 degrees. Reception sent a staff with a portable table fan and also told us to open the window (about 2-3 inches wide) if needed. Note: That night’s temperature was -3 degrees. Can’t stay in the room during daytime as it’s really too hot.
Main issue that concerned us most is the ‘Safety Issues’ of the hotel. On the wall near the window, there are 2 big hooks and 2 big bundles of ropes on the floor. At first we were puzzled what was that for. Then realised it’s for emergency escape through the window during emergency. Causes some anxiety in me.
The 2 lifts that were serving the whole hotel were slow. Didn’t see signs of any stairs around. Even people on 2nd floor had to wait for lifts. Especially slow during checkout time. Waited about 20mins before we could finally get in.
Excellent location as the back exit enters Jeonju Hanok Village. Room was spacious. Stayed...
Read moreRooms are great. Very clean. The hotel is right on the front of the traditional village so its in a great location.
The sauna is top notch but is closed on Tuesdays. It costs 8000 won. The swimming pool is more expensive and you can rent a private cabana for some shade. The pool is heated and is open 10am to 10pm. There is a shallow walled off kids section and the main pool is only about chest deep. The shower and locker facilities are great and are fully equipped with soap, shampoo, hairdryer etc.
The hotel has a nice coffee/bookstore with some interesting souvenirs to pick up. Opposite this is the restaurant. Breakfast requires a reservation and costs 16000 won. There is a mix of your western bacon, eggs and toast, cereal, tea, coffee and juice. Then you have your Korean rice, bulgogi, seaweed soup. Its a buffet style and for the price it was excellent.
All in all if I ever come back to Jeonju I will...
