Location was handy as it was near lots of restaurants and bars and cafes (including a CU convenience store with 1.5 litre beers & soju for about 4000 won each!), and 2 of the major waterfalls were each 10 minutes' walk in either direction; you could do both in an hour if you were that keen. The staff weren't so good on recommendations though, so I'd suggest using the map option in Tripadvisor reviews to find some good places close to the hostel.||||The view from the rooftop is lovely, and it's a great place to have a meal and a beer. Well worth a visit for this alone. Rooms and bathrooms were small and cramped, but they did the job. I asked about laundry and they washed and dried my clothes for free!! The mother figure was lovely and helpful, even if she couldn't speak a word of English.||||The staff weren't too strong with their English, but you got by with the simple stuff. They were able however to tell me which buses to catch to Manganggul cave & Seongsan world heritage site (both are bus 701), Seongpanak trail to hike to Hallasan (bus 781), Jungmun beach, and where to catch those buses. That was the main thing I needed to know and they helped in that regard.||Breakfast was basic, just toast and jam and juice and not many eggs, but it did the job. Also, the common rooms and kitchens were small, basically you had the ground floor and the rooftop. Not much fridge space either, but you can buy stuff day to day easily.||I spent 3 days and I did so many things and still couldn't spent another 3 or 4 days! You could easily...

Read moreI hate to give this place a low rating and review but I honestly feel like I need to because of my experience. While the location is amazing, the place is charmingly quirky and the hosts seem really sweet, I really didn’t like the room. It was private, so I was excited to get some good sleep, but that was impossible. Firstly, the mattress was really bad, although I can live with that. All the bedding was full polyester, so it was hot and sweaty in there, especially as the air conditioning didn’t work. But the worst part was the mosquitoes. I’m not even sure where they were coming from because the fly screens were closed the whole time. No matter what I did or how many I killed throughout the night, however, one would wake me up every hour or so. This was the last thing I needed after long days of hiking and with early starts planned to make the most of my time in Jeju. I’m probably grumpy from the lack of proper sleep but it really put a dampener on the trip. The sleeping situation meant I had no patience for other things that could have been better in the room too, like the shower which was inconsistent with warm water. I write this in the hope that the hosts will do something about the sleeping arrangement, because otherwise the place has so much going for it and I don’t like being negative. I feel I need to be honest for the sake of their improvement; I hope they see this and make some adjustments, because they never asked for...
