COCOA Restaurant / cocktails — Restaurant in Alcúdia

If you have a food allergy do not go here. I was traveling with my family and my two kids, my kids have food allergies. We stopped past this restaurant/bar as it looked nice from outside. We approached the waiter before sitting down at a table to ask about the menu for spaghetti or chicken nuggets to see if they contained eggs or nuts. The waiter (English/london accent) was dismissive and said the menus on the table. I explained their allergies and we could only eat here if they had an option of something safe to eat etc. the waiter then said what is it to want to know I said does the pasta or chicken nuggets contain eggs or nuts. He said “no don’t be silly darling, pasta don’t contain eggs or nuts”. Very dismissive and quite rude to the fact its two young children that it could effect! He took us to the table. I wasn’t too happy and should’ve just left at the attitude of the waiter. Anyway we sat down along with 6 other family members and were looking the menu. I double checked again before we ordered and he seemed annoyed and said he would go check with the kitchen. He then came back to state that no we couldn’t order spaghetti or chicken nuggets as they contained eggs. We had wasted our time and potentially could’ve given our kids a meal that contained their allergen! I get that it can be time consuming to check with the kitchen etc but for the sake of two little kids having a severe/ life threatening allergy I’m sure it would be the best option for a restaurant to be cautious and at least helpful! I would avoid if anyone has allergies as it’s not worth the risk! There is a lovely Italian across the and along the road which were very accommodating and...

I came to this restaurant following a recommendation. But the experience was horrible. Well after they brought my drink order they also brought me the bill. That made me understand that they would like me to leave as soon as possible. After this, I asked if it was closing time or why was the note brought to me that I hadn't asked for it yet. I was told that this is how it is done, but I can see the people around me ordering without paying after (they paid at the end as normal). I found this discrimination very rude, because I was not a local and I am a tourist. At the end, it was pointed out that I left without paying. A fact that again made me feel uncomfortable and especially after it was demonstrated that I had paid, they did not apology to me in any way. ZERO Customer Service, unfriendly, disoriented and rude employees. So if you want to be treat with respect and pleasure just don't go to Cocoa, please....

For me this was the find of the holiday. Very easy to walk past, and like a lot people I always find someone outside trying to get me to come in off-putting. Glad I got over it. If you want a drink in cool surroundings then this is the place. It looks open, but there is a large covered area The drinks were great, not overly expensive. Service was top class. Later on it becomes more club like with DJ, which I didn't mind at all. The food was simple, well made and tasty. Do not expect gourmet. It's made in a carvan. But it tasted great, and was just what I wanted. Best burger on the beach. Also, and this is a me thing, if you order a drink you get a small bowl of popcorn. I love this. Not many places do this anymore, and I miss it. On the main road so good luck parking. But there is a taxi rank...
