Anema E Core — Restaurant in Barcelona

First, I should praise the highly attentive staff that waited for our table, we went with a child and a baby in the buggy, not only he seated us down in the shortest time, had the baby safely tucked into a high chair and helped warm my baby food in the just right temperature, it is a wonderful restaurant for family. Menu wise, we ordered the anema e core salad, almond flakes, tuna flakes and chunk of avocado on green, ordinary. Polpette al Ragu, meatballs braised in a very flavorful tomato sauce, superb! Pizza capricciosa, my daughter loves it, though I personally think it was a bit runny to my taste. For the postre, we have tiramisu, delicious. I have visited a fair share of Italian restaurants as I love Italian food. This was by far the worst Italian restaurant I’ve visited. First of all , service was incredibly slow, which wasn’t a good sign. When our food arrived an eternity later, the pizza was very very dry. They were quite stingy with toppings as there was barely any cheese on a margherita pizza?! If anything this pizza out of all pizza should have a reasonable portion of cheese. The risotto was absolutely disgusting. We couldn’t have more than 2 spoonfuls. The taste was weird and didn’t seem fresh at all. We were quite let down as we looked at the reviews before going and were quite excited with high hopes. We ended up leaving our food and just paid and left the restaurant. My pasta was very tick and heavy. First time my pasta came it was very stiff, extremely undercooked. The waiter claimed it’s Al Dente but it was definitely undercooked since it was very very stiff. Moreover, the pasta came with Parmesan on top although I clearly asked without Parmesan. Attention to details = zero.

Owner keeps sitting outside talking on the phone. The guy clearly doesn’t know how to run a restaurant. I believe most of the reviews here were done by his family and friends since I cannot find another explanation to the high rating.

Horrible design to the restaurant. Strong white light makes you feel like you’ve entered a hospital not a restaurant. TVs playing NCIS & MTV on high volume simultaneously. Joke place.
