CHEAP! RUDE! NOT CLASSY AT ALL! NO MANNERS! THEY WERE SETTING MY TABLE FOR NEW GUEST WHILE I WAS STILL THERE AND HAD 2 HOUR RESERVATION AMD IT HAS BEEN ONLY ONE HOUR!!! AVOID!!!! Our experience at Jacqueline was incredibly disappointing. We came to Jacqueline for dinner and to book new year dinner there, but ojd visit took an unfortunate turn. Initially, everything appeared ok, but issues arose when they served us butter and bread, charging us €7, even though my husband doesn't consume butter. In 1 » minutes we ordered our cocktails and entradas and were preparing to order the main dishes, and then the waitress informed us of a €70 per person spending requirement in a rather impolite manner. Depsite already ordering for more than 70 euro per person, it would be nice that this crucial detail will be disclosed on the website. The confusion persisted when my main dish arrived with truffle fries instead of the simple ones I ordered because the waitress were pushing her stuff on us, being « worried » that we will not meet 70 euro requirements per person. The fries arrived with disgusting truffle paste and dried Parmesan that no one asked for. The staff's attempt to influence our choices left us feeling frustrated. Despite reserving for two hours, the waitress hurried us out at 9 pm ( we had reservation from 7:45 and arrived on time), citing the arrival of the next guests. They even cleared our table while there was still wine in glass and took our napkins literally FROM MY HANDS!!! While we were seating there and started to set a table for new guests . Overall, the experience lacked class and felt more like an unsatisfactory tavern with average food, excluding the decent croquettes. It's advisable to steer clear...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of dining and I must say that it was an overall delightful experience. However, there were a couple of aspects that could be improved to make it an even more exceptional dining destination.
Let's start with the positives. The ambiance is truly charming and cool. The cozy decor and warm lighting create a welcoming atmosphere that is perfect for a romantic dinner or a gathering with friends. The menu is also very impressive, offering a wide range of delicious dishes to choose from.
Now, let's address the areas that could use some attention. First and foremost, the service could be better. While the waitstaff was very polite, I noticed that there was room for improvement in their wine service. It would be wonderful if the waiters were trained to serve the wine and ensure that the glasses are consistently filled throughout the meal. This would certainly elevate the dining experience and make it feel more personalized.
Another minor issue I encountered was the table arrangement. The tables are placed quite closely to each other, which can make conversations feel a bit less private and may hinder the overall dining experience, especially during peak hours. Some additional spacing between tables could go a long way in enhancing the comfort and intimacy of the dining area.
In conclusion, it is a charming restaurant with a lot of potential. With a little fine-tuning in the service department, particularly in wine service, and some adjustments to table spacing, it has the opportunity to become an even more exceptional dining establishment. we are looking forward to returning in the future and witnessing these improvements that will undoubtedly enhance the overall...
Read moreThis is one of those places in Barcelona that truly stands out for its atmosphere and energy. My wife first discovered it on Instagram, and we decided to make a reservation. From the very start, the experience was wonderful – the young Brazilian hostesses greeted us with genuine warmth and a big smile, and they even allowed us to change our table without any problem.
The venue itself is fantastic, with several different spaces that each have their own unique vibe. There’s a lively upstairs restaurant full of energy, music, and a young, joyful crowd, and then a jazz lounge where we were lucky enough to enjoy an excellent live performance. Later in the night, the jazz lounge transforms into a private electronic music club, adding an unexpected and exciting twist to the evening.
What makes Jaqueline truly special is that it’s not trying to be a Michelin-starred restaurant – and it shouldn’t be judged that way. Some reviews here are negative because they compare it to a fine-dining Michelin experience, but Jaqueline is something completely different. It’s chic, trendy, and vibrant, offering great food and drinks in a setting where music and atmosphere are just as important as what’s on the plate.
Yes, it is expensive – expect to spend around €100–€150 per person – but in my opinion, the overall experience is well worth it. If you’re looking for a formal, classic fine-dining evening, this may not be the right place. But if you want a stylish, upbeat night in Barcelona, with great music, a fun crowd, and a touch of glamour, Jaqueline is absolutely...
