The rooms are some of the smallest hostel rooms I have ever stayed in. The beds fold down from the wall in my room, and once they are down, there's barely enough room to walk. There are 6 of us sfaying in here, and its probably smaller than the average bedroom. Seriously tiny. There are no privacy curtains on the beds either. There are only 2 bathrooms per floor. One boys and one girls. By that I mean that for the whole floor, all girls share one shower and one toilet. The shower head is broken on my level, and there is no way to lock the door when showering, so anyone can just walk in. But, the locker sizes are decent and very secure. You use your personal electronic key given to you at reception to use the locker. The staff are also very friendly, and this hostel is much cleaner than others I have stayed in. There are plenty of power points in the room, and hanging hooks on the walls. There are however no bench spaces whatsoever, so if you need to charge a phone or computer it will either be on the bed or on the floor. This isn't really an issue for me but I know it is for some. And one small mirror and no benches in the room makes it hard for so many girls to get ready in the morning. Although this place is probably not the best, and there are definitely better options, I have to give it credit where credit is due, therefore I rate it 3 stars. If I could give it 2.5 I would. I feel there are probably worse places you could stay. It's not awful just...
Read moreBe Sound is a clean hostel, well serviced by metro from Parallel station, it has free WiFi accessible throughout the hostel and on it’s terrace, there is a large well kept kitchen with a stove, toaster and microwave. My room had air conditioning and a comfortable bunk, they do look slightly dated if you are the type of person who likes to look fashionable while unconscious. Private lockers with key card locks are provided for each guest.||There are some considerations in regards to the elevator, it is turned off at night as it is incredibly noisy, be prepared to get some cardio in after a long night out.||If you are like me, and things like this don’t bother you then you will be more able to enjoy this hostel’s biggest asset, it’s staff. Incredible service at all times, friendly, multilingual and sociable - they always had time to talk, joke and make suggestions. The place has an incredible chilled atmosphere but they make sure you can get help whenever you need it and the cleaners will be there to sort the rooms bright and sort-of-early.||In terms of activity, you are very central to many lively areas (Las Ramblas is around the corner, the beach bars are within walking distance) but you should make sure to spend at least one night on the terrace drinking Marta’s cocktails, on a warm night you will quickly make friends with other guests.||Great place, would stay again. Thanks to the team...
Read moreI enjoyed my brief stay in this hostel. After a bad stay in previous, nearby hostel, Be Sound Hostel has satisfied me, as follow:
Location - located in the city center and between Plaza España and Plaza Catalunya. Nearest metro is just 30-meter away.
Surrounded by bakeries, restaurants, barber shops and alimentaciones. There is a souvenir shop in front of the hostel.
Cleanliness - the room I stayed at, the kitchen and living room in ground -1, the terrace and laundry room in the rooftop are all clean. The linens and blankets are also clean.
Basic amenities - Im glad to find what I needed most in a room which are: large locker for my two backpacks, socket/plug and reading light on the bedside. I rented a bath towel for 2.50euro and there's no available liquid shower soap. There is a vending machine in the living room - one for coffee/tea/milk and one for snack foods.
I surely recommend this hostel. And will definitely stay here again when...
