We stayed here one night before our cruise and I was very impressed by it. We chose it as it was close to the port and fairly close to the cruise shuttles.||Is it as fancy as other establishments? No, the decor in the room was a little tired with a few paint chips, but the rooms were very clean and most importantly the air conditioning worked perfectly (see my other review for the Raval house hotel where we stayed after our cruise for a few nights!). Although a hostel, we booked a double and a twin room which each had private bathrooms and it was great that we had the option to do that. ||There were also a few nice touches. Each room got a small bottle of water and bag of crisps for the guests. This was an appreciated welcome.||Our stay included breakfast which was a bikini (toasted sandwich) and there were several varieties to choose from. There was also tea/coffee, fruit and yoghurt available. Breakfast was lovely.||The reception staff were amazing and so helpful. When we mentioned we would be cruising she told us exactly where the shuttle buses went from (a different place than it states online!) but did also tell us what the approximate taxi fare would be and how the taxis in Barcelona worked. We taxied in the end so we didn’t have to lug our cases around.||When we realised that we had lost one of the cruise luggage labels, she told me to email them to her and printed them for us etc. so helpful, nothing was too much...

Breakfast buffet was also very good for the price, coffee bean machine (cappuccino not the best because it adds a bit of chocolate to it but Caffe latte is top class), orange juice, croissants, toast, ... Polite staff, helpful, spoke English as my Catalan and Spanish are too embarrassing for anything more than hello! They offered to keep my luggage after checking out.
Room perfectly clean, clean smelling bedding, air-conditioning, WiFi, strongest shower I have seen in my life, hairdryer ... Yes, the furniture is not brand new but perfectly fine. Rooms are not very big but decent (and remember that they are cheaper than others). Curtains and roller blinds, windows can be fully opened. Safe in the wardrobe (haven't used it). Magnetic card key room entry, door locks from inside.
The only downside is that the hotel is on the main road and there are a lot of loud mopeds in Barcelona... Take some earplugs if you cannot stand traffic noise. I was fine. They do have rooms on the other side so book accordingly. TV could be bigger but you are not going to Barcelona to watch TV ...
Close to subway/metro, bus stop outside, corner shop and a Caffe nextdoor, supermarket 5 min walk (Lidl, they have good local produce and everything else you would want from a supermarket). I would definitely...

Room: The room was small (like, prison cell small) but in good shape. It was satisfactory for the price, given the location.
Location: Located close enough to major sites like Montjuïc, Las Ramblas and Barcelonetta that you can walk, but far enough away that you don't get subjected to the noise. It's also within a 5 minute walk to two different metro stations (on the same line.)
On the negative side of things, I would not recommend this place to anyone with any mobility difficulties. There is an elevator to the first floor, but that's as far as it goes. To get to the second floor you have to climb up a few stairs, walk a few feet down the corridor, climb down a few stairs, walk along another corridor and then climb a full flight of stairs.
Additionally, the cleaning staff ignored the Do Not Disturb signs. They would still knock, and if you don't answer they come into the room. If you are not there, they will clean the room. (Personally speaking, if I am staying somewhere for 3 days or less, I don't want my room cleaned.)
Room Tip: People with reduced mobility NEED a room on the...
