Our family of four—two adults and two young children (ages seven and three)—spent an unforgettable New Year at Hotel Arts Barcelona, and we couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment we booked, the communication was exceptional. The hotel reached out well in advance to coordinate our airport pickup and ensure that any needs we had would be met upon arrival. This level of attentiveness gave us a great first impression before we even stepped through the doors. Originally, we had booked a club-level stay, but due to renovations, the club lounge was closed. Instead, we were upgraded to a penthouse, and what an upgrade it was! The penthouse was a true sanctuary—spacious, luxurious, and offering breathtaking views of the city and the Mediterranean. As a family that enjoys five-star hotels but sometimes finds them less child-friendly, we were thrilled that Hotel Arts Barcelona welcomed children with open arms. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring that both our kids felt special throughout the stay. While not in the very heart of the city, the hotel’s location at Port Olímpic was perfect for us. It offered a peaceful retreat away from the city’s hustle and bustle, yet was still well-connected. The beach was right there—lively even in December—and there were plenty of nearby amenities, including a mini-market and an ice cream shop. Taxis were always available, and the hop-on-hop-off bus stop right outside made sightseeing easy. Walking into the city was doable but a bit long with young kids (about 30 minutes). From check-in to check-out, the service was flawless. Staff members went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, and no request was too much trouble. Little thoughtful gestures—like treats left in our room, personalized notes, and even a sweet surprise from the ‘Tooth Fairy’ when our son lost a tooth—set this hotel apart from even the best five-star experiences we’ve had, including in Dubai. The two-floor penthouse was a dream. With two spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an elegant living and dining area, we had plenty of room to relax. After a busy day exploring, it was the perfect place to unwind. Room service was excellent—especially on New Year’s Eve, when we enjoyed a quiet family dinner with a bottle of wine from our in-room collection. One of the highlights of our stay was The Pantry, a hidden gem within the hotel. The food was exceptional, the menu carefully curated, and the pricing very reasonable for the quality of both the cuisine and service. My husband and son enjoyed it so much that they ate there six nights out of seven! The only night we didn’t was New Year’s Eve, when we opted for room service. The breakfast selection was one of the best we’ve had. From freshly squeezed vegetable juices to an extensive variety of options catering to all tastes, it was inclusive and beautifully presented. Most importantly, the staff made our children feel truly welcome, always engaging with them and making the experience even more enjoyable. Hotel Arts Barcelona exceeded our expectations in every way. The service, location, food, and attention to detail made it one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We truly felt at home, and the way the staff cared for our children made all the difference. We will absolutely be returning, and we can’t thank the hotel team enough for making our Christmas and New Year so special. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone looking for an impeccable luxury stay...
Read moreI don’t even know where to begin to describe how incredible our stay at Hotel Arts in Barcelona was; I stayed for 4 nights with my wife and 9 month old son. If I could give it 6 or 7 stars, I would, because the service and hospitality at this place far exceeds anything we have ever experienced in our travels.
From the moment we arrived early on a Sunday morning, the staff was so accommodating - giving us a room to sleep in after our red eye while they waited for an upgraded room to become available. This was so welcomed after 12 hours of travel with an infant, especially after we expected to have to kill a whole day on limited rest.
I’ll start with the service: I am convinced you will not find a more welcoming, friendly, and cohesive team across all departments. There was not a single shortcoming. From the bell team, to the check-in and concierge desks (our son loved Oriol and Blanca), housekeeping, and the most friendly restaurant staff you will ever meet - every single person we encountered at the Hotel Arts made us feel at home.
I need to give a very special shout out to the people who made this stay one of a kind. First - the team at the Marina Restaurant: there are no words to accurately describe how incredible they were to us and our son. We first met Rakan, who went so far above and beyond to love on our son that he went out of his way to leave us a hand written note, stuffed animal, and mementos from Barcelona in our room after our first encounter. The inimitable Kate, who dubbed our son the “mini-supervisor” and spent multiple meals personally bringing him around with her while we enjoyed our food and drink (totally unnecessary and unprompted - but much appreciated!). There were so many incredible people that made our experience one of a kind that I have to name: Alessia, Cristina, Jussi, Costanza, Rosa, Ariana, and Dennis were such amazing ambassadors of the restaurant and hotel.
I’d be remiss not to shout out the breakfast team at Lokal as well: Enzhe, Anna, Marta, Frank were just so so incredible. Did I mention the food was fantastic throughout?
The rooms themselves were phenomenal - my wife especially appreciated the Dyson hairdryer and provided steamer. Our seafront room was well appointed, with his & her sinks, black out and shear curtains, fully stocked minibar, waterfall bathtub and rain shower head, and USB & USB C throughout the room. The only small drawback was the nightclubs below which were open late - it wasn’t terribly loud, but on a few occasions you could hear the bass.
We had plans to explore more of the city, but had such a great time at the hotel that we chose to forgo some of those plans and just stay onsite.
I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Barcelona. The team and the staff left such an impression on us that we are already planning to come back. If you are debating between the Hotel Arts and another hotel in Barcelona- don’t. You will...
Read moreDisappointed with Poor Safety and Communication at Hotel Arts Barcelona
As someone who values quality service and professionalism, I must express my disappointment with my recent experience at Hotel Arts. Despite having high hopes for a pleasant stay, I unfortunately encountered several concerning issues that left me feeling unsafe and unsatisfied.
One of the main concerns I had was the lack of responsiveness from the hotel's management. I sent an email to the manager and, to my dismay, did not receive a response for over a week. This lack of communication left me feeling ignored and unimportant as a guest.
To make matters worse, I fell ill during my stay and was not feeling well. It was then that I realized my room door was not locking properly, leaving my security compromised. The hotel's room service waiter was the one who noticed the issue and called for someone to fix it, but it was not resolved until the following morning. As a result, I spent the evening with my door unlocked, which was a major concern for my safety and well-being.
In addition, I was disturbed by loud noises coming from my neighbor's room in the early morning hours. It became apparent that there were loud escort ¨Girls and Boys coming in and out of the room, which disrupted my sleep and made me feel uncomfortable. Furthermore, during the day, someone entered my room without my consent, and when I confronted the reception about it, they promised to investigate but failed to provide any follow-up or explanation about who entered my room.
The lack of safety measures and poor communication skills displayed by the hotel are truly disappointing. As a guest, I expected a higher level of professionalism and attentiveness to my concerns. The hotel manager, Marguba, requested that I send her an email regarding my issues, but I have yet to receive a response, further highlighting the lack of accountability and responsiveness from the management team.
In conclusion, my experience at Hotel Arts was far from satisfactory. The hotel's failure to address my concerns about safety, communication, and guest privacy left me feeling disappointed and concerned. As a guest who values elegance and professionalism, I expected a higher standard of service. I hope that the hotel takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary improvements to ensure that future guests do not encounter similar problems.
