The Room Barcelona — Restaurant in Barcelona

I went here on christmas evening because everything else had closed. The furniture and interior design is "plastic" and cheap to begin with.

We were handed some menus which offered a glass of wine for 2,90; i had 2.

I had to leave in a bit of a rush as i had to play as DJ at Pacha around the corner at 00.00 am. On they payment process, they charged 5 € per glass of wine - i complained and said the menu advertised 2,90 €.

The waiter said "yes, but that was the daytime menu, now it's night". I said "That's your problem i want to pay what was advertised". He pointed to his Ipad/cashpoint and said "I can't change it, it's in the system". I had no time to discuss further so i paid (or so i thought) with my credit card, and left with a friend.

When we were at the entrance of Pacha next door, the security guy of the bar came chasing us, claiming the credit card payment had not gone through and demanded i would come with him to pay the 10 €. I told him "i have no time i have to DJ now". He, in a very demanding and wannabe-authoritative tone "you come with me NOW". Finally my friend went with him and settled the 10 €. I asked to get a receipt of the failed creditcard payment which i never saw.

In short, the place looks like s...t, the service is bad, the staff is not well-trained, the security is a disaster. It feels like a typical "Barcelona tourist ripoff" venue, and i can only advise everybody to steer...

Had a terrible experience with a bald bartender here, who tried to scam me. I paid for two shots, and my bank account was charged immediately. The payment machine even printed a receipt, which the bartender threw into a cup. About 15 seconds later, he claimed the payment hadn’t gone through and insisted I pay again.

Despite showing him proof of the charge on my bank account, he refused to let us take our shots and kept insisting we pay again. This went on for 3–4 minutes until he finally searched the cup, found the receipt, and admitted the payment had gone through.

I’m convinced he knew I had already paid and was trying to trick us into paying twice. Don’t trust this place, there are plenty of better bars in the area where you won’t have to deal with dishonest...

We went for lunch and it was a pleasent experience. The location is good and provide a relaxing break from the hot. The food was good. The service fast and very friendly. Paulo the young gentelman who waited on us was super nice and hiliariously friendly. So was his young female Colleague. The prices was very acceptable compared to other reastuarnts in the same area. We highly recommend going there when you are on the Olympic walk way...
