Issues with hotel: Breakfast, although included in our rate was terrible. Orange juice squash and some sweaty pink meat standing in for the real thing just two examples of the issues here. Serving also concluded at 10.30. We therefore ate at the Presidente next door each morning where we were able to enjoy a full English(with proper bacon) that included coffee and proper fresh orange juice for €6.50. Or alternatively a Spanish equivalent for €3.50. Fantastic. We had to move rooms twice, initially due to proximity of elevators and corridor noise but also due to the sewage stink which some of this hotel appears to suffer with and also the small uncomfortable bed. The choice offered was either broken old and lumpy or rock hard make your joints hurt. Although booking a premium room (whatever this means) when we enquired about switching to a twin we were advised this would cost us extra to switch. The room we ended up in would only push hot or hotter air into the room regardless of setting. So we ended up sleeping with the patio door open each night. The shower was a joke. A single fixed point on the side wall with a shower attachment that would be perfectly suited to someone shorter that 4ft6. Ideal if the person was also happy for a constant fluctuating temperature. Having also showered in the spa and experiencing the same temperature related issue we assume this was a hotel wide problem. Finally a message to the management of the hotel: I had earlier written a review and at that time had planned to give this hotel two or even three stars, the spa after all was very good. However, due to the failure to fix any reported issue, while provide false information regsrding room rates, while all the time pursuing and hounding us in order to seek an improvement to our review score is frankly outrageous. We were so concerned by this behaviour that we actively sought to avoid the hotel common areas each day incase we were further harassed. Subsequently, we have no interest or intention to return to this hotel, or speak to with you any further about any of this. A bad experience left well behind and I am sure you will ignore all of this just as you did while we were...
Read moreThe hotel defiantly gets 5/5 from us .we stay in benidorm every year and this hotel is the best we have stayed in . First impressions are very good , lovely clean , modern building and same in reception , we liked the online check in they send you prior to your stay , so quick to get your keys when you arrive , The staff are all very helpful and friendly , we stayed in 705 which overlooks the street at back of hotel it has a nice mountain view to the left . The rooms are a good size and have everything you need for a very comfortable stay , safe was included in the room price , we were told we could borrow a kettle from reception and cups and spoon from the bar which we did and was a nice extra , pool towels can be used too .The pool was nice ( not very deep but you could still swim in it ) never saw a broken sun bed and had no problem getting one and sun was around the pool all day .Bar drinks reasonable prices and snacks looked lovely although full from the lovely breakfast so didn’t need to try them ..The breakfast had so much choice and everything looked fresh and tasty , eve meal the same , loads of choices .On an evening there was a singer but we didn’t manage to see them as we liked to have a wander on an evening .The hotel is exceptionally clean everywhere and smells fresh , our room was cleaned daily and the staff very friendly anything you asked for, they did their best to help .location was the best for us , 5 mins from the large market , 5 mins from the strip , 5 mins to other bars in another direction and 10/15 mins to the beach , but not too loud on a night to sleep .I would also like to say a masssive thankyou to the manager mercedes and her staff for doing such a lovely job of keeping the hotel looking so clean and running so smoothly , we were also very overwhelmed by their kindness and help when my husband slipped in the rain outside and he cut his head , sorting taxis to hospital and making sure we were both looked after so well until the end of our holiday , thankyou to them all , It’s a lovely hotel and now we know why so many people return we will definitely be doing the same in...
Read moreWe have just returned on Wednesday, 8th November 2017, from a 14 night, full board stay at the Helios Hotel. We have visited Benidorm many times, but this was our first time staying in the Helios Hotel. Hopefully, it won’t be our last, as we found it one of the better hotels in Benidorm. Being a party of 3 Adults, one of whom is an amputee, we e-mailed the hotel beforehand requesting a room on or above the 3rd floor, near to the lifts and overlooking the pool. Low and behold, we got exactly what we asked for which was FANTASTIC and made our stay so enjoyable. The room and balcony were spacious and cleaned daily with clean towels daily too. The bed linen was changed every second day that we were there. The room had self adjustable air-conditioning, free television with only a few English speaking channels, (no BBC though accept NEWS) free WiFi, free fridge, hairdryer, telephone, walk/roll-in shower, plenty of hot water, shower gel and hand wash was also provided free of charge. There was also a safe which was conveniently placed on the wall, so no need to bend down inside a cupboard to get into it. It did cost 2€ per day with a 10€ deposit, which you got back after your stay. The room did NOT have a kettle, bath or bidet. The reception staff were polite and helpful, the cleaning staff were lovely and did an excellent job. The daily (except Sunday) entertainments lad was just wonderful. He always did his best (not at all in an intrusive way) to get people to join in and play darts, rifle shooting, ping pong and many more games around the pool. If you win, you get a signed ‘Diploma’. They even had dancing lessons inside too💃🏽🕺🏼The outside pool is also HEATED. Now for the most important thing for any disabled person, THE HELIOS HOTEL DOES HAVE A PARKING AND CHARGING AREA FOR MOBILITY SCOOTERS WHICH IS FREE AND IS RIGHT OUTSIDE THE HOTEL. We would highly recommend this Hotel. We gave 9 out of 10 as we are very fussy eaters and didn’t like the food, which isn’t really the Hotels fault. We noticed there was a microwave in the dining room where you could heat up your...
