Apartamentos Casa Vida — Hotel in Calvià

To start, the rooms were lovely. Clean, comfortable, no complaints. Also the pool area was nice. That’s all I can say that was positive. The staff were awful to us. There were complications with the rooms on day 1. We booked 4 per room but they only allowed 3. That was fine and we sorted that problem then and there but from that stage on they were looking for any excuse to kick us out. The reception and management were incredibly rude to us. We were sent noise complaints and when we showed them video evidence that it was not us, they did not care. A few days later, they proceeded to send us another complaint about swimming in the pool past the closing time, which we did not do. As a matter of fact we took a video of the people who were at the pool and when we showed them the video, they did not care. Although none of their complaints were based on truth, we made an effort to be as unproblematic as possible. Alas a few days later we were told we were being evicted and had two hours to pack our stuff and leave. They claimed one of us urinated off of the balcony and even claimed they had CCTV footage. We knew this was not true and unsurprisingly, they refused to show us this video they supposedly had. We got none of our money back and were thrown out on the streets with 3 days left of our holiday. They wouldn’t listen to any of our reasoning, we were incredibly polite and yet we were met with aggression and hostility. Well and truly tainted the holiday and I would not recommend...

The apartment we were staying in looked as if it was fairly newly renovated and was in excellent condition. Modern bathroom, small but functional kitchenette (with kettle, microwave, toaster, fridge, 2 hobs and a coffee maker), bedroom with twin beds and 2 box sofas in the living area that could be used as beds if needed. Plenty of storage & extra bedding supplied.

We had a pool view which was amazing, however, the balcony didn't get any direct sun during the day so in Spring it can get a bit chilly. Pool has an accessible "ramp" with rail so for anyone that can't manage steps I thought it was a great feature. There was a lifeguard on duty every day and there is a bar by the pool for daytime refreshments. Apartment was cleaned everyday except the Wednesday. Cleaning was to a high standard in my opinion.

There is no reception at the actual apartments so you have to check in at the hotel across the road and go there with any questions. When we first arrived this wasn't very clear. Hotel staff were really friendly and accommodating. One of the room key cards wsn't working and they replaced it no problem. They also pre-ordered us a taxi to get us to the airport for our return journey.

Location is great - very close to the beach and lots of shops, restaurants etc nearby. Bear in mind that Santa Ponsa is quite hilly anyway and you do have to go up and down hill to get around - including to get to Casa Vida. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend the Casa...

When we arrived off our flight we had found out at reception that they had falsely advertised their rooms. We booked the rooms for 4 adults per room they then proceeded to tell us that it was actually 2 adults and 2 children even though they had advertised their rooms on booking.com for 4 adults. They made the mess up with their advertisement they then failed to accommodate us for our booking which is a breach of the booking contract. Since then anything that happened in the apartment block was blamed on us even though it wasn’t us going against their rules. Their cleaners took pictures of us and ripped us out of our beds in the morning demanding us to leave so they could clean. On our 8th day of staying we were rudely awakened and being told we were to leave the premises by 3:30pm they were kicking us out with no proof of it being us that went against there rules. After this the apartments main reception proceeded to turn off their phone lines so nobody could call in and complain whatsoever they were the rudest and most disrespectful people I have ever encountered. They didn’t cooperate, negotiate or reason with us they wouldn’t tell us what we did and refused to show video evidence of us commits these “acts”. Even tho it should be very easy for them to do so as the premises is covered by CCTV cameras.
