TERRIBLE

We booked a table for this restaurant based on old reviews. The evening started well, the restaurant was full and very busy. The waiter was run off his feet but pleasant. We ordered the food and my tapas came but not My wife’s cod dish. Eventually this arrived but was cold in the middle, so it went back. Another finally arrived well after my Tapas was finished. One of the tapas dishes did not come and when we reminded them it arrived but was not good. At this point they agreed to remove this from the bill. After waiting ages for the cod we went inside to ask if they would remove a bottle of wine from the bill because of the terrible experience. Then it al kicked off, the chef started shouting and arguing, a local started shouting at us then the waitress called the police !!! I told them that I had never refused to pay the bill, simply asking if they wanted to do something as a gesture. We paid the bill in full and left as they were quite happy for me to share this experience

So, in summary

POOR UNDERCOOKED FOOD RUDE AND AGGRESSIVE CHEF IF THIS IS THE BEST TAPAS IN SANTA PONSA THEN...

Had an fantastic meal here. Went going by the reviews and we weren't disappointed. When we arrived the place was empty so we had reservations and noticed a few customers looking at the menu but not going in but we were glad we did. The hostess was very welcoming and attentive. We ordered four different tapas, one a shared seafood platter for two, and a bottle of wine. The portions are large compared to tapas at home so we probably over ordered. However the dishes were so tasty we finished the lot. Just over €60 including two coffees and the wine. Great value. To finish off the hostess gave us an ice cold bottle herb liquor from the freezer and we were left to help ourselves. Class touch. Would...

The food was average but that was the least of our problems. As soon as we arrived, I had to ask for another fork because the one at my table was dirty. I didn't think much of it, until I noticed the remnants of food stuck to the spoon and dish. Just when we were commenting on the bad hygiene of the place, another customer called the waiter and asked him to take her dish away because she had found a hair in her food! The waiter didn't even offer a proper apology and said things like this can happen.... Then our food came and the tortilla was soggy, the artichokes tasteless, the fried calamari were grey and oily....
