We were there just one night in the 2nd week of November.||1. Street parking - make sure you know the color of the parking area signs. You will need a tix between 5pm to 8pm? (Do not remember) to park areas colored in Blue, otherwise you will get a parking violation tix with 30 Euros. You have to use coins to get tix from machine near you. No cards accepted. Coins only. We checked in late and parked right in front of the hotel to check in and move luggage’s to the room and came out 15-20min later got a tix. Tix states all in Basque and Spanish but you have until midnight of the next day to pay just 6 Euros fines instead. You can pay fines at any one of machines on the street. There will be a code stated in your tix, so press the correct button to pay fine, put your code, and pay fines.||2. Hotel - we get that it was off season when we stayed. Still the restaurant in the hotel was not open, main lobby’s light was off - no one was there. You will get a big old key for your room, just like old days. The room had a decent size but looked old and had stain filled carpets, and sewer stench from drainage (I think it came from the bathtub) was filled in the room when we got in and we noticed that foul smell immediately. There is a QR code at the door of mini bar fridge, but this QR code never worked to check the pricing. Walls are thin to hear voices from other rooms.||It was by far the worst hotel experience during our trip. This hotel needs extensive renovations of the guest rooms and I would recommend staying somewhere else, unless you have to stay in Haro and no other hotels in Haro are available.||We stayed at Casa Robla day before and I highly recommend staying...
Read morewe visited for a single night en route from Salamanca to San Sebastian. We booked this hotel because, on paper, it looked to be the best hotel in Haro. |We were very disappointed! As two couple we had booked 2 double rooms on-line direct with the hotel. The room we were shown to smelt strongly of cigarette smoke and the light was supported by its shade on the wall. as soon as we tried to adjust the shade, the fitting fell off. We asked for another room and were offered the room with two single beds that our friends had just rejected! We were told the only other room was a room with two single beds together and so we took it. This room smelt of stale cabbage. we had prepaid (including breakfast) so checking out wasn't an option. The smell was so bad that as we were unpacking my wife left the door open the receptionist passed showing another couple to the room and asked what the problem was. She recognised the problem!|We blocked all the plug holes and drains to try and stop the smell. The receptionist was sympathetic but said there was nothing she could do. There would be no manager until 10 am the next morning by which time we would have checked out. She said she would have given us a free breakfast but we had already paid for it. I asked for the manager to email me regarding our issues but still waiting. We were given a bottle of cava s=as some kind of compensation but ideally we would have stayed somewhere else.|The hotel is a pretty soulless building which for an ex-convent...
