This was our second visit to Madrid in 8 months, as we loved it there so much the first time and there was nowhere else we were going to stay, after such a fantastic stay in this wonderful hotel in January.||||After arriving at the airport we took the fixed standard charge (30 Euros) cab straight to the hotel and upon arrival, were welcomed by Sandra, who greeted us very warmly at reception. We had contacted Gonzalo before we arrived to let him know we were returning and he had sorted us out with a lovely quiet Superior room on the 7th floor, which was so lovely of him.||||As mentioned in the review in January, the main city centre sights are within a 15 -20 walk, including the Royal Palace and Plaza Mayor. The weather was once again fantastic, only this time approximately 20C warmer and once again, the proximity to everything meant we ended up walking another 27 miles in the 3 days we were in Madrid as everything is just so accessible via foot!||||The only time we caught the bus was another trip to the El Retiro park, which is on the other side of the city to the hotel. The C2 takes you there and the bus stop is practically outside the hotel. We had another great few hours in the park, this time focusing on the upper East side of it, where there are some spectacular gardens, with lots of roaming peacocks to admire. ||||The breakfast at the hotel was again wonderful, with a large selection of breads, cakes, fruit and hot dishes, which was enough to keep us full until we saw all those lovely Jambon and Manchego takeaway places, where you have to indulge, when you're in Madrid. Emoji||||As we stated last time, we will always stay at this hotel from now on, when we return to Madrid, which we will, as it is in a very safe and pleasant neighbourhood with cafes, bars and supermarkets close by, indeed our favourite Spanish gin (Larios) was cheaper at the local supermarket than the big chain supermarket (El Cortes Ingl`es) branches in the heart of the city.||||We always take our travel kettle with us so when we wake up we can have a tea first thing before going to breakfast. There is a large cold fridge in the room which you can store milk in as well as anything else you wish to buy from the local supermarket. ||||A couple of minor issues and requests with/for the room were dealt with efficiently and always with a smile by Sandra during our stay and it was fabulous to catch up with Gonzalo again on our last day at the hotel, when he returned from time off.||||In summary, another fantastic stay in a fantastic hotel (how it is not more than a 3 Star is a travesty of justice) in a thoroughly enjoyable and walkable capital city (the tallest in Europe) and the hotel lived up to it's quality from our last stay. A special shout to both Sandra & Gonzalo for making the trip extra special and I'm sure we'll return at some point in 2024 to renew our love affair with both Madrid and this great hotel, with...

Read moreWorst ever experience in my whole life for a stayed in hotel of my holiday trip. A staff named Ruan or maybe wrongly spelled. We raised an issue of leaking water noise in our room ceiling from air conditioning to this staff Ruan because we can't sleep at night but no response. We have to go downstairs at reception. The staff is very rude showing his anger by raising his voice and speak in Spanish to his colleague and ask us to pack and changing room at midnight. We don't understand how or what his said about us. We suggest to sleep in other room and move early next morning but been denied. They insisted to move us immediately with company policies and he ask me to pack or stay at the same room. Midnight to pack all our stuffs which is everywhere in the room in midnight? Seriously? We just refused and stay up all night until the next day morning. The manager apologise but same again ask us to pack and change room but not even mentioned what happen about to his own staff and what's we have experiencing last night. It seem to me like he is protecting his staff but ignoring the customers. We been moved to a smaller room but been charged the same for a bigger room fees.
Please think twice if you really want to booked this hotel. And the breakfast is awful.
Very bad service culture being built here of this company policies like we don't know what is it? Maybe we knew customer service come first better than them. As you can tell when we walk pass the reception they give us bad face. We ignored them and can't wait to checked out for our next move to Malaga.
I will pass this experience through social media and warning and avoid people to have a bad experience stayed in their holiday. Especially to my friends of friends.
Still feel awful whenever speaking about this. How the rating 4 come from?...
