This establishment is located on a major street, within walking distance of the attractions we wished to visit, and within 150 metres of the metro station.
The serving staff and cleaning staff were friendly. We would have appreciated being advised by the 30ish female attendant with shoulder length black hair and unique side arms on her spectacles, that a ‘bagged breakfast’ was available when the previous evening, we asked her to book a taxi prior to the breakfast buffet being opened. She was adamant about refusing to refund the fee and instructing us on policy the next morning.
Our room on the third floor was was above average in size for this couple and our four large pieces of luggage. The decor as near new and tasteful. There was a fresh paint smell in the building. The indirect lighting, gave this room a homey feel. There were numerous electrical outlets. The HVAC system made the room a comfortable temperature, if one remembered to turn it on after inserting the room card. The shower and linens were great. Our room was very sound proof. All rooms face away from the street. The bed was comfortable and supportive. The amenities provided included: soap, glass cups, toilet paper, facial tissue, shoe shine kit and shampoo. We would have appreciated the soap (the pump dispensers were inoperable) and tissues being replenished on a daily basis. The entire venue was clean.
The included breakfast was awesome. Yogurt, fruit, numerous pastries, cold cereal (5 or 6 kinds), sausages, awesome bacon, scrambled eggs, cold cuts, potatoes, orange juice, etc. Always well stocked and fresh. Cold and hot beverages were provided by two machines. The coffee varied from great to poor.
In summary, pretty much what one would expect from a 3 star hotel with a great location, clean, and awesome breakfast. One of the front desk staff could have a more...

Pros Location was nice. With renovations happening it didn’t feel or look dirty. Breakfast for the most part was a pro- had decent offerings you’ll be able to find something to eat. Bathroom size.
Cons The ac only went down to 23. It was warm throughout the whole night. Very hard bed & stiff sheets. Volume on tv doesn’t go above 14. We put the do not disturb sign on our door and went out for the day and came back and a staff member had gone into our room. When we went to speak to the reception the man in the afternoon couldn’t comprehend why that was a problem. It says online there is an airport shuttle but there isn’t one. It says around the hotel there is renovations being done but didn’t expect to be place in a room with renovations happening right outside. We didn’t want our room serviced during our stay but we did need towels and when I went down to ask for some the man in the afternoon started to lecture me on only being allowed 1 towel per day and I explained my room wasn’t serviced and he just kept repeating himself. He was awful. 1 English Channel and it was...
Read moreFour of us stayed overnight at the Hotel Porcel Ganivet on 10/21 after a long travel day. Check-in was prompt, friendly and professional (so sorry, don’t have his name) and were delighted to find that the room was larger than expected. Our room had a patio adjacent to it; unfortunately too cold to really enjoy! The bathroom had a nice size sink with roomy countertop and the walk-in shower was large with plenty of hot water. Although the double bed was really two twins pushed together, (which we had encountered at other hotels), it was very comfortable. Because the day had been long and we were checking out early the next day, we decided to eat in the hotel bar/lounge area and were glad that we did. Marco took great care of us - even in the midst of a brief power outage- and our dinners were very tasty and satisfying. The breakfast buffet was pretty standard with a variety of baked goods, cheese and meat platters, eggs and frittatas, fruits, yogurts, etc. and they had two coffee machines, a blessing when confronted with the early morning crowds. ||Thank you folks again for a very pleasant stay,...
