To begin, it’s very difficult to say anything bad about this hotel as it’s perfect for the price and the area it is in is ideal as it’s not only close to the beach (around 10 minute walk) and it’s also very close to the town of which saves lots of money as taxis are not necessary for this hotel even after a night in the town. We really enjoyed our stay here, the rooms were lovely, big and came with everything you need except air con which I will talk more about later. The staff were so kind and were willing to do anything to help any problems you may have which I will also talk more about later. The cleaners came regularly to ensure the room was fresh as well as the balcony. To add to this, the balcony provided amazing views and it was lovely to sit on at all times throughout the day. ||The rooms were very spacious which I enjoyed and the shower was out of this world, the hairdryer is provided by the hotel and it’s very high powered ( I have very thick hair and it took me less than 5 minutes to dry my hair) which made getting ready very very easy.||The pool at the hotel is amazing, its small but it’s cool and it was so nice in the heat and it’s the perfect height as it spans from both deep and shallow between each side of the pool which makes it accessible to all ages. There’s a lifeguard on duty at all times. Sunbeds were also not a problem and many were spare which were very easy to get.||The staff at the hotel were incredible, due to our late check out we struggled quite a bit as we left at around 5pm however the receptionist really helped to lead us through this in a helpful way which we really appreciated as their efforts were really shown in this, however when we did check in we also had a late arrival (around 1am) which was a lot less organised however there is a shop in the hotel which was made accessible for us to purchase drinks and snacks upon our arrival. ||I’ve seen many complain about the lack of ac however this wasn’t much of an issue with us as it’s very cool at night time and we didn’t spend much time in the room in the daytime, however it was very very hot at around 6pm when we were getting ready but this was resolved by opening the balcony doors and this was not a problem whatsoever for us, a small handheld fan helped us which we got from ale hop!||Overall this hotel was so amazing and we would definitely come back here, we have no complaints and we had such a memorable...
Read moreThis was my second visit here. I go here solo for sun and relaxation and that's exactly what I get. I've been to Puerto Rico many times and stayed in a few different hotels as well as the Altair, one of the sister hotels, which is situated further up the hill closer to the commercial centre which is also very good but the Cala Nova is much better for the uncovered huge balcony and minimal noise from the main centre, spectacular views, sun from 11.30am until 7-8pm! I can't understand why they don't have sunbeds on the balconies as there is AMPLE room for them! Location is perfect for both the shops and the beach. Walk along the beach front to the right and you will find the ferry to take you to mogán (€13 return) as well as some steps up to the cliff walk to amadores beach (both a must to visit) If you struggle with walking up hills there is an abundance of taxis to take you back to your hotel which is a minimum charge of €3.95 and this covers your journey from the beach. It's easy to walk down though. I find the beds very firm and the pillows could be better but everyone has their preference. The staff in reception are very friendly as are the cleaning staff also. The rooms are spotlessly clean and have everything you need for basic self catering and there's a shop at reception but very expensive, over €5 for a loaf of bread. There's a good Spar opposite the Mogan shopping centre (better shopping experience and some fantastic restaurants on the top floor) to stock up If need to. Although I didn't use the pool it's small with plenty of sunbeds which people do the ritual of laying down their towels, entertaining to watch. I'll be visiting again this year as this is now my happy place. See you soon Cala Nova and hopefully you will consider sunbeds on the balconies in the near future 🌞 thanks for a...
Read moreI stayed at Cabau Cala Nova at the beginning of June 2023, alongside my friend. The rooms were clean, the poolside area was nice and the location great.
Upon arrival at the hotel one of the first things we were asked is if we wanted to use the safe. As we were on a tighter budget and we felt this hotel was safe, we decided against it. I totally regret this now.
During the first full day of our trip I had €70 stolen from my purse in the room.
I had left €70 in cash in my handbag which was hanging on the wall behind the bedroom door. I left it there and spent a few hours at the pool. When I came back the door had been moved and my bag was open. My purse was also open and the money gone.
I complained to the manager and staff, who were unhelpful and suggested I may have lost it myself. They didn’t take my word and they did not investigate the situation. I was discouraged from reporting this to the police.
We were then forced to pay the €25 for the safe. I find the whole situation strange. We were asked almost immediately upon arrival if we were using the safe and then on the first day as soon as we left the room the money was gone.
Although this hotel is nice and has a good location, BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WITH YOUR CASH. Either pay for the safe or don’t take cash. Also be careful with jewellery or any other special items.
I never got my €70 back and never received an apology from anyone at the hotel.
I will NEVER stay at this hotel again and I do not...
