Went to dinner with my wife. We went there quite early (around 18:00) so the restaurant was quite empty. Still the old madam (Christina maybe 🤔) was at the door to welcome us to dine. The staff was very polite and welcoming. I took starters, main course and dessert but my wife took only the main course and dessert. As a starter I took chefs cannelloni. As mains we both took Steak Cristina and as dessert, I took some kind of Flan and my wife took the cup of Cristina (fruits, ice cream, cream and some liqueur if I recall correctly). Everything else was very nice, only the Flan was a bit lacking... Or it's just that I don't like it :) But a really good and enjoyable experience all in all. Regained my hope for humanity and the food of the Canary Islands after the disastrous incident at the La Cantina.

Zum Glück ... ... sind wir bei der den Empfehlungen in den Online-Kritiken gefolgt, da wir in Puerto Rico kein Restaurant kannten. Die Online-Reservierung am Vortag hat nach einer normalen Wartezeit geklappt und so sind wir gespannt losgefahren. Nach einer kurzen Suche haben wir das Restaurant auch gefunden und wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Das Restaurant ist, wie auf den Bildern im Internet - stimmig und schon besonders eingerichtet. Wir haben uns gleich Wohlgefühls, weil auch die Tische schön eingedeckt waren und eine tolle Atmosphäre herrscht. Die Tische sind mit weißen Tischdecken und farblich stimmigen Stoffmitteldecken versehen, jeder Platz war mit Besteck und Platztellern versehen und auch entsprechende Gläser standen bereit. Außerdem war der Tisch gemäß unserer Reservierung für drei Personen vorbereitet, was wir auch toll finden! Nach der Essensauswahl kam die Chefin selbst und hat sich erstmal als Mama Cristina vorgestellt und nach unseren Wünschen gefragt. Sofort war eine herzliche Beziehung vorhanden und wir fühlten uns gleich noch wohler und angekommen. Unser Essen – Stroganoff und Filet Cristina – wurde nach einer passenden Wartezeit serviert und schmeckte sehr gut. Die Portionen waren auch gut bemessen. Nicht nur Mama Cristina sondern auch alle anderen Damen des Service waren sehr freundlich und haben das Abendessen für uns zu etwas Besonderem gemacht. Der Preis für das Essen ist vollkommen in Ordnung. Wir kommen wieder!

GOD MAD I EN DEJLIG OG USÆDVANLIG TIDSLOMME. Cristinas restaurant er svær at finde. Man skal vide hvor det er. Et lille rødt skilt hvor der står Cristana på fører dig til en lille tunnel. Derefter skal du op ad en trappe, gå til venstre og der er en lille dør. På alle måder gør den det modsatte af alle andre spisesteder hvor der står en "lokker" udenfor med "hello my friend" og masser af lyd og lys. Stedet har eksisteret i 40 år og det fortæller at folk værdsætter det og kommer igen og igen. Og at disse gæster fortæller glædeligt om det til andre. 4 tjenere og Cristina er meget opmærksomme og du får al den service du kan forvente af et godt spisested. Jeg vil egentlig give stedet 4 1/2 stjerner. Ikke fordi der var noget i vejen. Tværtimod. Men det virker som om der ikke er sket så mange ændringer i de 40 år. Cristina har holdt fast i indretningen, retterne og stilen. Alt inventar var vedligeholdt så det drejer sig ikke om gamle møbler. Nærmest tværtimod. Tror bare Cristina kan lide tingene ser ud som de plejer. Og derfor føles det som en lille tidslomme fra da vores forældre tog til Spanien. Og maden følger tiden. Rigtig god mad fra 80'erne. Masser af kød, kogte/stegte grøntsager og kartofler. Men i modsætning til rigtig mange restauranter i byen så kan kokken her lave mad. Og tilberede kødet helt perfekt. Så er du blevet træt af dårlige madoplevelser i byen så vil jeg klart anbefale at spise på Cristinas.

Sole Cristina was recommended to me by Manager. 3 sole fish options on the menu. She described "Sole Cristina" as best, boiled sole in white sauce with mushrooms, prawns and served on a BED OF CREAMY MASHED POTATOES. I said as an Irish woman I would always take creamy mashed potatoes. That was her option to tell me that the creamy mashed potatoes are actually instant powered factory produced fake potatoes YUCK! When it was served also the 3 prawns were served split open, the black vein waste was very visible on the top. Why if a chef goes to the trouble of opening up the prawn tail does he not clean it. The waitress smiled when I showed her it, and she asked if I wanted another one. I mentioned my total disappointment with the potatoes, she said next time order the Canaria potatoes. My friend had sea bass looked and tasted good. Also steaks looked amazing cooked in front of you. Over all...

My family and I have been visiting this restaurant for over 30 years and it is our favourite in Puerto Rico. Cristina and her family and staff are wonderful, the service is excellent. Everyone is made very welcome and every time we go, the restaurant seems to be full of people who have been there many times before. There are lots of photos on the wall inside the door, we are there too. The food is gorgeous - I love the Fillet steak Cristina, and we always have the Strawberry flambé for dessert - amazing !!! Prices are slightly more than some other restaurants there, but still much cheaper than this quality of a meal at home. I recommend this place...
