Was very disappointed with out visit here. First off, we were seated at the only table that either didn't have a working fan/fan wasn't turned on for us and we were sat directly infront of the kitchen making it uncomfortably hot. We ordered our drinks immediately upon seating and even though we had finished these drinks at the end of our first course we weren't once offered any more drinks for the rest of the night - staff were dealing with the tables around us/talking amongst themselves that we couldn't get anyone's attention to order anything else. Food was fine, two out of three that ordered steak medium-rare received it rear - the third steak however was cooked correctly. Not once were we asked if that food was okay/did we need anything else. After all finishing our mains we waited for around 25 mins hoping that staff would clear our table/offer us a dessert menu but this did not happen. In the end we managed to ask a staff member for the bill as at this point we did not wish to stay in the restaurant any longer and went elsewhere for dessert. Atmosphere was not good, we were not made to feel welcome or looked after - out of our week in Puerto Rico this was the worst service in all the restaurants we had been to. If you're looking for a guaranteed amazing restaurant to eat at with amazing food and personal service go to Restaurante Grill Toro Bravo where we had 3 of our best and most...
Read moreThis restaurant is located in the same area as other questionable establishments that have oddly high reviews, which honestly raises suspicion that these reviews are bought. It’s strange to see this in a European country, especially in a relatively wealthy country and an expensive tourist destination, where restaurants have people outside trying to lure you in—just like in Istanbul. This kind of practice feels out of place and untrustworthy.
In the entire complex of these restaurants—which might all be scammy—there wasn’t a single local person dining. About 90% of the patrons were Norwegian, Finnish, or other predominantly white tourists, mostly retirees.
As for the food, it was average. The shrimp were overcooked, though the Canarian potatoes were tasty. The service was mediocre at best, with staff being slightly rude at times.
What shocked me the most was reading the owners’ responses to negative reviews on Google. Again, this mirrors the situation in Istanbul, where scammy businesses threaten to sue customers who leave negative reviews, even if they got food poisoning. This kind of behavior is appalling and further confirms my suspicion about this place.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend visiting this place. It’s better to look for restaurants where locals eat, as it’s clear that a spot catering exclusively to Norwegian tourists, with relatively high prices, is unlikely to offer the...
Read moreWe were recommended this restaurant by another restaurant in the same complex and for the most part it was a good experience. We ordered a lovely bottle of dry white wine and shared the boiled octopus with paprika and olive oil which was beautifully cooked and well presented. For mains I had the sea bass in salt with Canarian potatoes which were nicely cooked and tasty however it came with too many bones, which unfortunately I swallowed making it difficult to finish. My partner had the cod on a bed of spinach which he described as overly salty but managed to finish it. The service was inconsistent as most of the staff there were polite and kind as with many of the staff at restaurants we’ve been to here, however our main waiter we felt to be quite rude as he didn’t make eye contact with us at all, never asked how our meal was and wasn’t very attentive. When we paid he was very silent and didn’t wish us a good evening.
Overall, we feel this has potential to be a 5 star however there was a lot of negativity...
