I was recently privileged enough to be able to spend some time at Hotel Can Cera. For starters let me say that this doesn’t feel like a hotel. With only 14 rooms in total it feels like you are staying with family members. It is more like a sanctuary. With its subdued entrance you could walk right past it and not even know it. We did several times. Once you enter through the large wooden door you are welcomed with an amazing blend of natural elements and tranquil, moody elegance. The Hotel Can Cera envelopes you in a peace that just allows you to be present and enjoy the company of who you are with. The hotel itself just oozes luxury but not in an “in your face” type of way.||||There are only 14 rooms so the Can Cera team (Benjamin, Jose, Noemi, Marta, and Camilla) do an amazing job of meeting your every need. In some hotels you can feel like it is the staff’s job to see to your needs. This is not the case at the Can Cera. The Can Cera team feels warm and familiar like family. They feel authentic and are always quick with a very warm good morning/good night, suggestions of restaurants, or things to do. It was wonderful to be so graciously received every day. ||||The rooms are spacious and very well appointed. They almost make it difficult to peel yourself out of bed to enjoy your holiday. As an American who travels through the EU, I can always appreciate a dark, cool room. The breakfast is also not to be missed. Make sure that you include it in your booking. Many places in Spain do not open early so it was nice to know that we had a delicious meal downstairs and it quickly became one of the highlights of our day. ||||Even though you can rent a car at the airport, I would suggest you renting one directly from the hotel. As I stated, the hotel’s entrance is difficult to spot by vehicle and the staff will tell you that some of the streets near them are small and not open to traffic. Listen to them. Google maps will not take you there successfully. It will get you to the plaza if you are lucky. ||||I can not recommend the Hotel Can Cera and its staff...
Read moreLet me start with the two negatives that the hotel needs to address. I’m 6’2 (188cm) but the front door of the hotel is built for much shorter people. The way the door is constructed, it is not obvious the first time you walk through. When I did so, I hit my head so hard that everyone in the hotel lobby and everyone on the street gasped (and some came to my rescue). To make matters worse, the hotel employee who checked us in and gave us a tour mentioned that I was not the first to hit my head. Well, I hope to be the last. The hotel needs to add some indication warning guests of the low doorway. My head throbbed my entire first day in Palma and I did not sleep well as a result.
The second safety issue is that the hotel spa which is on the ground floor is behind a door and down two steps that are not expected. Additionally, they are not very deep landings so if don’t realize that there are steps there, it leads to a tumble and a hard landing. This can easily be remedied by a verbal warning by the hotel employee who leads you into the spa area.
Now for the positives. The hotel is beautiful, old but updated with modern amenities, and staffed with people well trained in ensuring that your stay is top-notch. The rooms are all large and well-appointed. The bed was softer than I like but very comfortable. Both the two b and the shower in the bathroom had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Our towels were switched out everyday and the room cleaned to perfection.
Upon arrival, you’re offered a glass of the most delightful cava and there’s a complimentary bottle in your room for enjoyment. The hotel has a trademark scent and they offer a small bottle for you to take home as well as offering it for sale. They clean the spa between usage including emptying the hot tub so that you are ensured to sit in fresh and clean water. There is onsite parking at 36€/day but accessing this part of the city by car is tricky to say the least.
If given the opportunity, I would definitely...
Read moreStaying at Can Cera Hotel was an absolute dream. From the moment we arrived, we were taken in by the warm atmosphere and stunning decor—every detail of the property feels thoughtful, elegant, and true to the charm of Mallorca. Benjamin walked us through the map of Palma and Mallorca, recommended restaurants and day trips, and even made us our dinner reservations for us while we relaxed and enjoyed our welcome drink.
Our room was incredibly spacious, beautifully designed, and instantly felt like a private sanctuary. What really stood out, though, was the staff’s remarkable attention to detail. Even if we stepped out for just 20 minutes, we’d return to find the room perfectly refreshed. Their attentiveness was unmatched—always present when you needed something, but never intrusive.
One day we weren’t feeling our best and couldn’t explore the town, but we didn’t mind at all—the hotel was so comfortable and the staff so kind that it felt like the perfect place to simply rest and recharge. Booking a massage is a MUST - one of the best we’ve ever had. We also took advantage of the spa that had a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi and reserved it twice during our stay.
One thing to note is that there isn’t parking onsite and it’s about a 7min walk from the hotel and the roads to get to the hotel are very narrow and not for a nervous driver. Not a deal breaker for us but something to note!
The entire experience was seamless and elevated, making us feel cared for in the most genuine way. Can Cera is the kind of place you don’t just stay at—you remember. Without a doubt, a five-star experience. We...
