"Sa Bodagueta" is absolutely the most lovely place you could find in Palma, which offers not only delicious food but a great location and amazing service as well.
The place is located in a hidden street in Palma, far away from all those touristy places, and for this reason I believe its location gives it a local and cozy vibe.
The staff was super nice and kind and very professional. Fortunately we did not need a reservation but I would advise to book in advance in order not to miss the chance to dine in this great place.
What makes this restaurant stand out, apart from its excellent staff, location and atmosphere, is definitely the food. Various choices of tapas and main dishes of fish and meat are offered, as well as different local specialities.
Tried the "garlic prawns with wine, brandy and parsley" as tapas, which I have to admit is one of the best dishes I have ever tried so far. The flavor was extraordinary and I would love to taste it again. The "mixed paella" was phenomenal as well, certainly the best one in Palma! The combination of its spices and flavors were just on point and, combined with the strong and refreshing sangria, the overall dinner was extremely satisfying.
At the end of our dinner, the waiter also offered us some local, fresh limoncello. I believe this was very nice and I totally admire the courtesy and professionalism of the staff.
Needless to say I loved this place and it would absolutely be my first stop when visiting Palma again! Totally...
Read moreThe food is really good, but… it is EXTREMELY hot inside the restaurant, my wish was to leave as soon as we sitted and ordered. Then, the service was absolutely awful. My boyfriend was ordering, and in the middle of the order the waiter simply went to another table (full of women - we think he was flirting) to ask if the food was good (what he did not bother to ask us, of course). It was so weird, he simply ignored that we were ordering. I have never seen something like that, it was super rude. Then we ate our food while melting with the temperature in the restaurant. By the way, the water we ordered with our wine was not cold. We decided to leave without dessert because of the temperature. Then, the same waiter came with the credit card machine, we tried to pass our cards three times and didn’t work. He then started to act as we were trying to scam the restaurant, asking from which country we came from, and then asked my boyfriend to go to the bank and get money (we just had cards in the restaurant). He even suggested that I should stay while my boyfriend went to the bank, as if we would run away from paying the bill! Super embarrassing. Luckily, the owner came and could make the credit card machine work, showing that the problem was the machine and not our cards. AWFUL experience. Although the food is good, we left the restaurant with very bad feelings. Do...
Read moreDO. NOT. EAT. HERE. The personnel was rude and not transparent on the ingredients contained in the dishes. One of us could not eat tomatoes. At first he admitted there was some, then he looked bothered cause we asked him to remove it. The paella was clearly old and re-heated, therefore, he lied to us and indeed there was tomatoes. If you are allergic to anything you risk to end up in the hospital because of their lack of transparency. The rice was super dried. The clams still had sand in them. The shrimps still had their intestines full of poop. Moreover, we asked some lemon slices and they brought limes but they were clearly left out open as not a single drop fell on the inedible paella. Not to mention the heat and the dirt level (especially in the bathroom). The cherry on top of the cake: we paid 75€ for three people for paella (which we couldn’t finish) and water and the rude treatment. Left the restaurant famished and with...
