We have stayed at the hotel numerous times over the last 10 years however this time around the standards appear to have declined, during this visit we have encountered; All day business conference meeting being conducted at the rooftop bar eliminating any possibility of privacy in this area followed by the after party and associated late night/early morning disturbance up to 04:00hrs. On arrival we were given the choice of breakfast sitting times which we had assumed was to avoid overcrowding however for the majority of the visits the dining area is at maximum capacity with associated seating, cleaning, food replenishment, etc issues well below previous standards and expectations, on one occasion whilst entering the dining area my wife was confronted by a ‘tap on the arm’ by a member of staff to ‘further’ clarify our room number, clear demonstration of very bad manners and lack of common courtesy, far below that expected from a 4* hotel. The main rooftop, sunbathing area, accommodates approximately 26 sun beds however throughout our stay there are a number of parasol bases but only 1 parasol, we have brought this to the attention of the hotel staff/reception who regardless of the fact that the temperatures are presently 30+* do not appear interested in resolving this issue which remains unaddressed, most recently they have recorded our room number and mobile telephone number and said they will give us a call if they manage to obtain any parasols, considering we are 7 nights into an 11 night stay l find the response absolutely farcical and deplorable. Yesterday we requested that an unused parasol in the bar area be moved to the sunbathing area however we were advised that this could not happen however the parasol remained closed and unused for the remainder of the day! Melia are happy to take your payment up front however are not honouring their duty of care to patrons, no doubt Melia will attempt to ‘shrug this off’ as being addressed however the reality is they are allowing the issues to continue. I believe that Melia/Innside Palma Centre have had adequate time to address our concerns without doing so hence posting this review before the end...
Read moreGreat value for money to explore the city. Room a little tight if you have big luggage to open and have the sofa bed open. Otherwise it would be spacious.
I love that it’s modern the staff are super nice Free minibar is a huge plus (4 waters + 2 cokes + 2 beers per day) Ample closet space space to store luggage we could walk to good restaurants and cafes great value for money they give a useful info sheet on what to visit and where to eat plus how far it is from the hotel
For improvement: Not much of a view from our room. noisy bathrooom door bathroom is very humid, the exhaust can’t keep up they don’t replace towels unless you put it in the tub (which was not communicated to us) the bidet leaks basically the bathrooms needs a little upgrade
HEATED INDOOR POOL: We paid 8euros each for. Which means there were not many people (only 3 others). Just book your 1.5-2hr slot you get big towels and a special key card to enter the area steam room sauna
For improvement: the couple that arrived before us seemed to be under the impression that they had privately booked the area so they were surprised when we went in. They basically left all their clothes, bags and even shoes all over the changing area. Not even using the lockers. So if we wanted to, we could not use the changing area and benches. I know this isn’t the fault of the hotel when people are insensitive but perhaps they can encourage guest to use the lockers instead of using the changing area as their private bathroom/closet. the girls shower needs to be fixed. The floor slab was rocking with holes between the tiles the pool is on the small side but we were happy to be swimming be warned it’s very hot in the pool area and no water is provided. Better than bring your own
BREAKFAST: good value for 16euros per person + half for children Good variety freshly squeezed orange juice on demand they served local specialties love the clean and modern interiors and art

Read moreThis hotel was a disappointment. We stayed for 4 nights (it was our first time in Palma).||The location is not convenient for the historic centre and whilst a 20 min walk doesn't sound bad a 20 min walk back after a long day walking around was a bit more than we would have liked. In saying that there were some good restaurants within a 5 min walk in the opposite direction to the historic centre (Urbe was very good).||The hotel seems to be favoured by large tour groups so the breakfast room and reception could get very busy and then suddenly very quiet.||Our room was ok, but it was a bit 'tired'. Cleaning was very good though. The biggest problem was street noise and I suspect the windows need some major maintenance. I particularly requested a quiet room and I have Gold status with Melia. There was no recognition of my status on either check in or check out. Our sleep definitely suffered.||We got stuck in one of the two very small lifts after returning from dinner one evening. Communication was not good during this time and it was starting to get very hot after 20 minutes which is when the engineer arrived. Despite taking our room number afterwards there was no official follow up or service recovery attempt. Really put a dampener on our evening.||Staffing does seem to be an issue. Generally staff seemed pretty grumpy and not what you would expect in a well run hospitality business.||One thing I should say is that breakfast was really good, and better than we expected. There is a fresh orange juicer machine and the croissants were excellent. Coffee from the 2 machines seemed to vary with 1 being better on one day, but pretty average the next. It was out of order on our last morning. They will provide a tea pot to make a proper cuppa if you ask. ||Would we go back to Palma - yes. However, we wouldn't stay in this...
