The apartments are easy to get to, they are located around the corner from the Hotel Riu Palace at the end of the main Avenue in Maspalomas – Av de Tirajana. It costs approx. €40 in a taxi from the airport and there is street parking if you are driving. There aren’t any big signs outside, only a gate, so you might miss the entrance||The bungalows only have someone at reception for a few hours during the day, if you are arriving late in the evening you can email them and they will give you the code for the main gate as well as a number to ring. We did this and it went very smooth, on the phone they were able to tell us the number of the apartment and that it was open, so we were able to go to it and start to settle in as we waited for someone to come and officially check us in. When we left our flight was in the evening so we were able to leave our luggage in the reception area after we checked out (12pm) and there is a code for the door so you can get them if there isn’t anyone at reception. There only thing missing which some other places have, is a toilet and/or shower room, so that you could freshen up before your flight home||The wifi was easy to log onto and worked fine, although I do think you were limited to the number of devices|The apartment has a good size living room with 2 sofas against the wall leaving a lot of space in the middle. There is a TV but we didn’t use it. The living area is open plan and although the kitchen is small it has everything you need, coffee machine, kettle, microwave, toaster, fridge (with a small freezer), 2 ring cooker and cutlery, plates and glasses for 3 people. There is a small patio area with table and 3 chairs for sitting outside as well as a small breakfast bar so you can site and eat inside. Washing up liquid, sponge and drying cloth is provided||The bathroom is a nice size with a shower over the bath which had good pressure and hot water throughout the day. There wasn’t a lot of room around the sink for toiletries, but there are shelves opposite the sink. You can tell the bungalows are a little dated as there is a bidet in the bathroom.||The bedroom has 2 single beds with a bedside table (you are able to push them together if you want) There are 2 wardrobes with a lot of hangers to put your clothes away. The beds were fine. The only thing is that there is an air conditioning unit in the living area, but there is nothing in the bedroom, not even a fan, so we found that the room got very warm and stuffy even with windows open||The bungalows are divided into 2 areas and each area has a pool (which has a gate around it), the bungalows are located in a semi circle with a grass area in the middle and this is where everyone hangs out in their sun loungers. Each bungalow has 2 sun loungers and you don’t need to worry about trying to get one, there is no cushions on the lounger, but a beach towel is fine. The bungalows is a quiet resort even when busy, so its definitely not a place to come to if you want entertainment, its more of a place to relax, which was perfect for us||I will agree with some of the other reviews that the place is a little dated and some areas need a little repair (the window in the kitchen), but at the same time we found it to be very clean, the cleaner came at least every 2 days and throughout the week that we were there we saw numerous workers cleaning the outside areas and cleaning the pool etc..||For food, there is a small Dino supermarket around the corner and there is a bigger one at the Cita Shopping area (5 minute walk). This covered the majority of things we needed although we did have to walk a bit further to find a supermarket that sold fresh meat. There are a number of restaurants close by and Yumbo is about 10 min walk, so the location is pretty good. If you need a taxi, all you need to do is walk round to the Riu hotel and there is a taxi rank there||Overall the Bungalows are definitely not a luxury resort, but they have everything you need for a self...
Read moreThe bungalows are spotless and the staff are beyond helpful! We stayed at no. 14, which was very close to the pool and the communal lounger space. The bungalow itself had a well-equipped kitchenette, where we cooked breakfast every day - there are supermarkets within a 5 minute walk. The cleaners came every day to do a general clean, and change the towels every 2 days, and bed sheets once a week. Although our Spanish is very limited, all the staff were very helpful and friendly. If the reception is not open, there is always a member of staff around to help, for example when the electricity fuse blew one of the gardeners was able to help us.
The bungalows are very family friendly. There are secure gates all around and you need an access code to get inside. There are 2 pools, one for small children, and both have gates around them. The staff are also very flexible, our flight was not until late evening and as there was no one checking into our bungalow, they allowed us to check out late and have an additional day by the pool! They also offer information about public transport and things to do in the area.
We recommend the restaurants El Poncho and Al Circo Bar and Pizzeria. Most of the bars in the Yumbo centre are also nice, and definitely affordable! We also recommend taking part in the boat excursions, good value for price, even if you are not a strong swimmer there is something to do...
Read moreWe just cam back from holiday in Tajaraste. The whole place has been recently refurbished. The bungalows are very spacious and comfortable. This is an adult only resort. Its a walking distance from beach and all bars, restaurants, the dunes are just around the corner. There are shops close by so the location is perfect. This is a place to relax and unwind, if you looking for a party hotel this is not it. There is no bar in this resort so no music playing all day :) We had a bungalow with private jacuzzi and it was heaven! Higly recommend. The pool area is nice and clean, sunbeds always available. On the downside that when we arrived late at night there was nothing in the kitchen, not even a bottle of water, some tea and coffe. This is now usually a standart in all hotels so a bit shame it was not available. The kitchen equipment was ok just a small amount of everything, you get 3 spoons, 3 forks, 3 glasses etc. I also wish the cleaning of floors was done better, as I found a lot of hairs in bathroom. Another thing was no privacy in the back terrace, you sit in jacuzzi and face your neighbour also in jacuzzi, just not very comfortable situation. I wish there was some wall between the two terraces. Overall we really enjoyed the resort, we would definitly come back and would recommend it to all that want a relaxing,...
