Strange food and rude personal. First of all they had asked me 8 times where am i from... for what, for the menu choise -no, for same language speaking waiter - no, we had Spanish spiker waiter without English, all guests set in one room without division by countries, they gave all languages menu, for interest - it is not ok asked about it 8 times? while booking lady on phone asked this twice instead of my name or something question, lady on reception asked 3 times "where are you from", our waiter asked 3 times "where are you from", I think if I would meet a cleaner, he should ask also. The waiter, in response to my greeting and request to come later because not all the guests were sitting at the table, rudely interrupted me, he said that well-mannered people greet each other first (which I did, but he probably didn't hear because of his age or didn't understand because he didn't know English), I decided to play by his rules and see where we would end up, but the mood suddenly deteriorated. The waiter greeted, waited for each guest to respond and asked, you know what? right - "where am I from", then he decided to ask if we were ready to place an order. We ordered meat, in the menu you can see "grilled beef fillet" and "grilled beef fillet medallion" - this is absolutely the same dishes, don't pay more. The meat was on 3 stars, not too tasty, not total failure, sauces was bad, i tried 3 of it. We asked about the wine, waiter couldn't recommend, when I come to the bar for the help , barmen in the rude way said back me to the my table, he just called my waiter... when we asked about degustation a few wine kinds, which the waiter recommended (finally) to try, he bring just 1 and said, that this 1 not bad, take it... so he will decide what your guests will drink? and be attention they will not give your desserts prices, they sell them from the mobile table after your dinner before the paying and prices you will know just in the bill. Desserts decorated like in 1995, the time is stopped for their cooks. The cheesecake made from very stinky ingredients, the staff said - it is blue cheese, but im not sure, also they didn't warn guests about it, that is way I coudnt eat this stinky food, they didn't delete it from the bill or just say sorry or something. Our dinner was so bad, worst in...
Read moreWas recommended to go to this restaurant during my stay. Booking, was easy to book table on line. Upon arriving, I was asked for a reservation number which we had not been provided, so I conveyed to the waiter the booking time and my name, before I could finish my name, I was told abruptly that no this number is the time , what is your reservation number, so, I opened the confirmation email, which had no number, waiter then used my name to find booking. We found this interaction was handled in quite a rude way.
Upon entering, the restaurant is a very nice setting.
After table was provided, we were asked would we like anything to drink, I asked based on our party eating steak was there any particular wine that would be recommended based on this, to which we were told I am not you, you know your likes and preferences my taste is different to yours. The best information that could be offered was the obvious white wine for fish and red for meat. In this situation it would be nice for the waiter to be able to pair the wine with your food, which is normally quite common in resteraunts that strive for the service that this resteraunt is trying to emulate.
We then made our order, food is average and not of the standard that the resteraunt is clearly trying to achieve. Prawns starter was good, steak was ok, desert was ok. Average.
Service needs work and not very personal, in total we were served by 4 different waiters, a better service would be for one person to deal with the table. Wine was topped up when glass was near empty, which is a good sign of service, however, towards the end it felt like either we were been pushed out the door or they were looking for another bottle of wine to be bought, for example, over the course of ten mins, wine glasses repeatedly been topped up and up despite not even been drank from and the initial small top ups just became a full glass.
Overall I expected a lot more for the setting they create.
If there was a nicer greeting at front of house, waiters experienced in wine pairing, a less rushed service and a single waiter with set tables to serve, it would...
Read moreNot sure what the hype is about. Overpriced in every way. My steak was nothing amazing, I've had a lot better. Himself got the one that is meant to serve two, he was scrutinised by grumpy waiter for asking for it just for him (who cares? You're a steakhouse right?) So now we've ordered essentially enough for three. Ordered pot gratin with mine, I got the baked potato, should they ever once ask us how it was I might have mentioned this error, but no. Instead it was trying to flag the grumpy waiter every time our 'bunsen burner' ran out, oh yeah, did I mention they make you cook your own giant steak, we were hoping that's the 46e for himself (57.50e on the bill) would be nicely bbq' d as normally would be the case, but small worries right? Sauce is extra, 1.70e for a micro pot, a disheveled looking red pepper was the garnish I guess? The baked potato even had garlic butter (not mentioned in menu) that other half hates. So our nearly 100e bill , my micro glass of "cava" (the waiter corrected my pronouniation in yet more gruminess) was 5e, maybe I wanted more but they never asked, same for water, I was gasping but sure lookit the bunsen refill for cooking our own steak (not mentioned in menu) was the priority, to ask for more I shudder to think... in any case we had to eat later on that night, you weren't exactly full after our 3 person meal for 2. I wouldn't go back and I wouldn't recommend. The guy who showed us to our seat was probably the best bit, although it was beside a screaming child......
