Hotel Antik San Sebastián — Hotel in San Sebastián

We stayed here for 2 nights on a road trip with our dog. The hotel is clean, but not very well located nor do I think should have 4 stars.

It lacks certain amenities in the room, such as a kettle, mugs, an iron to name the least. I only ever saw one person at reception so for a hotel of its size it’s definitely understaffed.

We asked for an iron on Sunday night and we were told we had ti wait until Mon morning when the housekeeping got back! Thankfully after insisting we managed to get an iron, but still worth mentioning that this sort of inconvenience shouldn’t be part of the experience!

Also note for dog parents visiting this hotel, they ask you to sign the waiver that you can not leave your dog unattended in the hotel room at any time. So good luck if you want to go for dinner without your pet, especially if you have a dog that barks!!!

In addition they charge for parking at 15 euro but if you’re there on a weekend, parking is free on the roads and literally next to the hotel there’s a public car park!

I would not return back to this hotel and overall not a 4-star by...

In July 2023 we were travelling around in Spain without much of a plan. That is great of course but also comes with some challenges. For example, we ended up in San Sebastian during a festive week without any hotel reservations. Not our best idea as most hotels were fully booked. Luckily the Hotel Antik had one room left, so we decided to book the room as the reviews were pretty good. ||||The hotel lobby is neat and looks up-to-date and the hotel is nicely located just outside San Seb. Enough public transport to take you to the city center. ||||After arrival we first checked out the room... Well... That didn't meet expectations to say the least. The room was very, very old and falling apart. It was noisy (think the noise came from the elevator?), the toilet was standing loose on the floor and the water kept running, dirty shower curtain...||||I honestly don't know how (or when) they got a 4 star grading or such a good reviews. Maybe we just had the worst room in the building but I don't think it is worth the money...

Chose this hotel as on the map it looked as though it would be out of the city centre - ideal for me travelling through with my dog on the way from UK to Denia.|After 9 hours of being in the car we arrived to a hotel in the middle of busy roads and roundabouts. |Room is nice, staff polite but the air con (or lack of) means the room is stifling and hot.|Tried to turn air con on, man at reception said in winter you can’t and that’s automatically the hotel is heated. Great but what if we can’t sleep and need air?|Crack the window open - what so we can hear the busy roads? And my dog is barking at every unusual sound he hears?|So instead of the good nights sleep I need before driving another 8 hours in the car tomorrow it looks as though it will be a restless, sleepless night listening to traffic so may as well have...
