Caffe - Berri — Restaurant in San Sebastián

This place might be okay for breakfast (I didn’t try it, just going by the menu options I saw), but I stopped in for a quick, light lunch and definitely regretted it. I ordered the seafood salad with shrimp, small octopus, and squid - and honestly, it was a mistake. The seafood tasted far from fresh, more like it was at the end of its shelf life. It was unpleasant enough that I didn’t want to imagine what those poor creatures went through after they died. The whole salad was also full of oil, which didn’t help. The food was average, but the customer service from the staff was atrocious. It was not only with my group, I observed an older lady (employee) with dark hair treating seniors and tourists with what appeared to be anxiety and hate. The young lady employee was at least civil and had more patience, but far from nice. I've visited hundreds of pintxos in Spain and never really experienced behavior this poor from staff. A friend and I are staying in San Sebastián for 2 weeks as part of a larger Europe trip, and this cafe has become our go-to breakfast spot near our room. It’s open all day, it has great prices, the omelette esque menu item is only 2 euro and is quite well portioned, and the gentlemen behind the counter, Juso always greets us with a smile and is able to talk in English when my limited Spanish falls short.
