We came here at the start of October for an 11 night family holiday, myself, my partner and our 4 year old boy. We really enjoyed our stay (apart from the weather!) and would definitely return. ||Let’s start off with the positives…||- We had an apartment and it was lovely! A massive king sized bed in the main room, a little kitchen and a living room with a pull out bed. The bathroom was spacious and the decoration beautiful. We also had a large balcony with a fab view from floor 7. Couldn’t fault anything in the apartment, very happy.|- We really enjoyed the food. The buffet wasn’t massive and obviously there’s a certain level you expect when it’s a buffet but we were happy. The meat and fish were cooked on a grill in the centre and was replenished regularly as were the pizzas. There was a themed night every night which was good as it added a bit of variety. There was a sushi night, Mexican, Italian etc. My favourite night was ‘seafood delights’ which consisted of king prawns, langoustines, mussels, clams, razor clams and crab to name just a few. As a seafood fan, I was in my element! There is also the staples every night such as pizza, pasta, salad, chips, veg etc. As with a buffet sometimes the food wasn’t piping hot but there was a microwave if you needed to warm something up but all in all we found the temperatures of the food to be acceptable and the rotation was good. They only put out small amounts at a time which could be a bit frustrating if someone took a lot of something you wanted! But it kept the food fresh. |- The entertainment team. Where do I start? They were amazing! Hardworking with endless energy and enthusiasm. My little boy actually fell in love with Sany and Oleg and the feelings were mutual, they even came to the coach to wave us off! Made us all feel so special. We enjoyed all of the shows and appreciated all of the hard work that went into these. Kids club was awesome, my boy couldn’t wait to go every day! They always had fun things to do such as a treasure hunt, face painting, dancing, stickers etc. And every day they welcomed us with open arms and a big smile. All of the team were fantastic, we love you! Kids club was open every day 1030-1230 and 3-5, my little one probably would have gone for both sessions if he’d have had the opportunity! |- The complex was brilliant. There was a main large pool which had sufficient sun-beds for the time of year we came. There was also a more ‘luxe’ area which had day beds/canopies, a jacuzzi and a shallow rectangle pool. There was also a kids pool with small slides and a pirate ship. The water was cold yes but it’s October so we weren’t expecting it not to be! But we found somewhere to sit on one of the rare sunny days! There were plenty of tables in the outside area with a large stage to watch the shows. |- The location. Ideally situated about a 10/15 minute walk from a gorgeous beach with plenty of shops and restaurants. We had a lot of strolls when the sun wasn’t out and it kept us busy! There is also an Aldi about 5 mins away which is good to pick up a few bits (as the spar next to the hotel is super expensive!)|- The staff. We found everyone to be absolutely lovely! From the minute we arrived, the gent on reception was so informative and was very thorough. Bar staff remembered our orders and gave my son lollipops and even though the restaurant staff were ran off of their feet, they did their best. ||Negatives (or constructive criticism)||- It would have been good if there was some snacks available later on at the night as my boy was always starving and wanted a snack after dancing away at the kids disco! Also other hotels we’ve stayed have offered ice lollies/ice pops and they didn’t have anything like this here. We stayed in menorca in May and they had magnum type ice creams and cornetto offered in all inclusive and this would have been appreciated. |- If the weather had been sunny the pools would have been fine but due to the bad weather my little boy REALLY wanted to go in the indoor pool but it was for over 18’s which upset him quite a lot. Not much to do when the weather isn’t good. Thank god for kids club though! |- The maid service was a bit hit and miss. On some days the room was immaculate, other days it was just the bare minimum with things like glass not been cleaned or floor not being swept properly.|- An app (like Tui blue) would have been useful at seeing when different activities were being held/booking onto these as we didn’t really know when things were happening like sports etc. |- I would have like to try the Skybar for the taster menu but it was 18+, I get not having kids running about in the day but I felt we missed out just because we had a child. ||All in all we had a fabulous time and would definitely visit again!!! Muchos Gracias...
Read moreWe’ve just got back from a 10-night stay at Tonga Towers in Can Picafort. Overall, we had a great holiday and made some lovely memories, but there were definitely a few things that could be improved. This is my opinion, other people may disagree. Different strokes, for different folks…
✅ What We Loved • The Rooms – Spacious & Spotless Honestly, probably the best hotel room we’ve stayed in as a family. Loads of space, modern and absolutely spotless. • Cleanliness Across the Whole Hotel You can tell they take pride in the place. Everything was super clean. From the reception to the pool areas. • Lovely Staff Most of the staff were brilliant, really friendly and helpful. Special mention to the cleaning team and a couple of great bar staff who went the extra mile. • Great Drinks Proper branded drinks, no dodgy beer in sight. Easily one of the better all-inclusive drink selections we’ve come across. • Nestlé Ice Creams A big win for the kids (and the adults!). The ice creams included in the all-inclusive were Nestlé branded. Really tasty! • Pool Designed with Kids in Mind The main pool has a shallow platform which is perfect for little ones. It was a hit with our kids. • Beach / Restaurants Nearby While it’s not right on the beach, there are loads of good restaurants within walking distance. El Gaucho Steakhouse and Monaco were both excellent. We knew the hotel wasn’t beachfront when we booked, so no complaints on that front.
❌ What Needs Work • The Great Sunbed Scramble If you want a good sunbed spot, you’ll need to be queuing by 0730-0745 latest. It’s a bit ridiculous and not very relaxing when you’re on holiday. • Not Enough Shade There really aren’t enough shaded areas around the pool, which is a problem with so many kids around. A few more umbrellas or canopies would make a big difference. • Dangerous Umbrellas On windy days, some umbrellas actually took off and flew across the pool area – not even joking. A few people were hit by them (fortunately not kids). They need better, sturdier bases to keep them grounded. • Food Was Just Okay There’s a lot of choice, but most of it was just average. The pizza was the best thing by far. The biggest issue was that a lot of the food wasn’t hot, they have microwaves but you really shouldn’t need them. And prepare to queue if you want an omelette at breakfast. • Lift Situation Was a Nightmare Easily the most frustrating part of the trip. Not enough lifts for the size of the hotel, and you can easily wait 15+ minutes especially annoying with a pram. Luckily we were only on the 4th floor and could take the stairs sometimes. • Aircon It was really hot while we were there (30°C+) and the rooms just weren’t cool enough. The aircon is centrally controlled and stuck at 23°C. You can’t turn it down. After a day in the sun, you really want that icy blast when you walk into the room, but sadly, no luck. • Lifeguard? What Lifeguard? He might as well not have been there. Most of the time he was sat in the bushes on his phone. At one point, a group were being really boisterous in the pool. Throwing balls near small kids and I had to step in because no one else did. • Two-Drink Rule (Seriously?) This was just frustrating. Sometimes we could grab drinks for the whole group, other times we were told “two per person”. It doesn’t make much sense when there are six of you and you’re clearly not abusing it. Needs a bit more flexibility and common sense.

⭐ Our Ratings (Out of 5) • Cleanliness: 5/5 • Food: 2/5 • Drinks: 3/5 (would’ve been 5 if not for the drink limit) • Location: 3/5 • Staff (excluding the lifeguard): 5/5
Overall Score: 3.8 / 5
Final Thoughts:
Would we go back? Maybe. The rooms, staff and pool were great, and the kids had a brilliant time. But the aircon, lifts and lack of shade made things harder than they needed to be, especially with young children. If they fix a few of these issues, it could be a fantastic place...

Spacious, clean rooms and friendly staff can't save this hotel from its major flaws; ineffective air conditioning, poor-quality food, a daily sunbed scramble, dangerous umbrellas, a incredibly frustrating lift system, and inconvenient, arbitrary drink rules.
Overall, it feels like cost-cutting has taken priority over guest comfort. Would not recommend for families or anyone expecting a stress-free all-inclusive experience.

Good Staff generally nice and polite. Room, and hotel in general, was superficially spotless and our cleaning lady (Neua) was lovely. Rooms were a great size. Plenty of space. Nicely decorated. TV to cater for all languages. Internet speeds were decent when WiFi worked (which was most of the time). Good quality beer on tap (Cruzcampo) and they were generous with portions.
Bad Air Conditioning in rooms was atrocious and has been artificially limited to 23°C for cost saving reasons.
Food is, at best, available and edible. Most of the warm buffet is cold. Most of it is inoffensive, but flavourless. We gave up eating the evening meals after the 4th evening. Probably one of the worst all inclusive food provisions I've had.
Morning race to place towels is a joke. You have to be at the pool terrace by no later than 0750 to participate in the squid games as they open the door for 0800 and everyone rushes to get a sunbed. Led to poor night's sleeps due to anxiety of sleeping in. This is all because there are categorically not enough beds and definitely not enough shade.
The sun loungers are "OK". They aren't terrible, but have very little support or comfort. Some are saggy and very uncomfortable but due to the aforementioned point about not having enough loungers, you can't be picky.
The umbrellas are not secure. On days when there is some slight wind, they go flying. This is dangerous as you have a sharp metal brolly end flying around the pool side. The umbrellas should be replaced with larger ones of a more sturdy design and more of them.
The worst part about the hotel was the lift system. We were only on the 4th floor, so wasn't too bad as we could walk if needed, but then we also had kids and a pram with 6 in our party. Any floors higher or people with poor mobility, I would categorically not recommend this hotel. There are 5 lifts available. 2 of them are too small for any more than 3 or 4 people. One is just about usable. All the lifts are slow and there is poor coordination betweem which floors they go to. The 3 main lifts are on a single button and so it's a completely lottery as to which one you get, and it often turns up full. There must be a weight sensor inside, so why not just use that and then go to the destinations if it's near capacity? Peak times has resulted in us waiting 10 mins or so for an appropriate lift which isn't fun when you've got tired kids and people trying to push in the queue as they don't understand how queues work (we all know the type).
I don't think this is a hotel issue (more just a general building one), to be honest as the cleaning was always fantadtic, but we found lots of bugs in our rooms. One room had silverfish and a caterpillar, mine had a beatle that had decided to make a pair of my underpants home by defacating in it and eating them.
They have an absurd rule around "no more drinks than 2 per person" which they try to spin as "keep your drinks cool" when it's really just a cost saving measure. I could understand it someone went up and ordered 10 drinks between 2 people, but when you've got a group of 6, 2 being kids - it makes it inconvenient to keep sending 3 adults up all the time when you can take it in turns to send 1. What's funny is that even some of the staff see this is nonsense because some will ignore it. Staff should be able to exercise personal judgement on this rather than an arbitrary rule thought up by someone that isn't...
