I can honestly say that some of the reviews I have read couldn't be further from the truth. We had a fabulous 10 day holiday at this hotel, the staff were so helpful and always polite, approachable and smiling. The rooms although yes they are extremely dated, are just perfect for what you need, nice and clean, with comfortable beds, a good sized bathroom with a bath, plus shower over it. A TV with plenty to watch if you just want a break night in. We were on the 7th floor and we had a great view from the balcony over Can Picafort and the sea and there were two lifts so easy to get up to the rooms and down to the main area. We didn't use the spa/gym etc, but we did have a look and it looked a nice and relaxing area to be in if you wanted to be away from the sun. The bar and pool area were not chaotic at all, plenty of room for all guests even when the hotel is full and they were nice and clean and comfortable to be in. They had snacks available from burgers and hotdogs to pizzas and salad and fruit. Drinks of course were available and there is an outside machine for slushies, fizzy drinks and other soft drinks. Breakfast, lunch and dinner I felt had plenty of variety, even for the most fussy and offered healthy and indulgent food every time. My favourite had to be the pancakes and chocolate spread for breakfast. Also plenty of my absolute favourite watermelon. The entertainment was great also, Pedro is constantly working to get people engaged in games, dancing, singing, art, quizzes and much more in the day/evenings. Plus he does do Yoga and Pilates in the mornings and aqua aerobics when people wanted it. He just has the most amazing positivity and brings a smile to your face with his energy. He is also full of knowledge, so if you need anything do ask him (or at reception as they are full of information also) and he will help anyone if needed. The hotel is in a great position, only a 5 min walk to the beach and shops, but a decent amount away from the chaos of holiday makers. The only down side for me was the lack of plug sockets in the rooms given the amount of chargeable items people have, so I would recommend that you take a multi socket. I would definitely go back in a heartbeat and my children didn't want to leave and have begged to go back. I want to thank all the wonderful staff there each and every one made our holiday just perfect.

Read moreI recently stayed in this hotel with my teenage daughter. Great location and the cleanliness met basic standards, but that I'm afraid is where the positives end. I have never encountered such a sinfully miserable bunch of staff in my life and considering the hotel was 50% British occupied I found it perculiar that very few staff were English-speaking. I would fully understand this if we were holidaying in a more residential part of Mallorca but Can Picafort is very much a tourism resort. We paid all inclusive yet used very little of what was included. The food was poor. Breakfast was edible and provided enough choice for the fussiest of eater to find but the evening meal was not to standard. We ate on the first evening and it was cold and very unappetising, what we did eat was tasteless and bland. As a result we ate out for the rest of the week, not what you pay all inclusive for. Entertainment was provided on just one evening despite the notice board advertising daily entertainment. We were overcharged for tourist tax on arrival so please be aware of what you should be paying beforehand! I was charged for my daughter who should not be charged as she is under 16. I never questioned at the time as it was 2am when we arrived and I was tired. When I did question it later in the week it took several attempts and several different staff to process the refund onto my card as nobody seemed to know how to process a refund? The final nail on the coffin came though when me and my daughter missed our early morning transfer back to the airport, which I of course take full responsibility for. After speaking with our travel company, who were most helpful, I was advised to explain the situation to reception and ask them to call us a taxi. I did as they advised but the man on reception decided to arrange an alternative form of transport without my agreement. He had sent for what I now believe to be his wife instead of a registered taxi. I should have been charged 70 euros but she charged me 90 euros instead. They saw I was a vulnerable single mother in a state of stress and took advantage of that. Shame on you and shame on your hotel for allowing...
