The property shows an appearance of elegance which day closer look at the rooms is comparable to a room at a palace in much need of repair and proper upkeep. The marble in the bathroom is either discolored from inappropriate care or dislodged from the grout being gone. In the bathroom sink water did not have running cold, it runs warm to warmer. There is constant hot air piped in the bathroom. I spoke to the front desk; they ignored me. The staff treats every request as a disturbance; they didn't assist with any concerns such as issue with an item added to my room service that I didn't request, reply is that they are a third party. AC not working well by the bed the only as it was fine near the sofa, their explanation is that's is a top floor. When I returned from my tour, no one said anything to me and found a floor fan in my room without the courtesy of plugging it. I tried using the fan but, in the middle of the night the noise was so loud that I couldn't sleep People working at very early hours in rooftop bar without any concern for guests staying below. I had to listen to flamenco dancing with many people in the room next door in late evening. The salon has complimentary tea and coffee that is lukewarm and no one to address it. I gave them an ice pack to be frozen for medication to retrieve in my departure the next morning during check out. Upon checking out, they returned the ice pack cold not frozen for my train for over 3 hrs. They tried to charge me for breakfast meals that I didn't have. It also included a bill from room service which included a drink that I didn't receive and was assured when delivered it would be fixed. All these issues were disputed without the first room service bill fixed. The staff member didn't move from behind the desk to assist with my various pieces of luggage when going up the ramp until I was halfway while being aware travelling alone with...
Read moreThe hotel Inglaterra is celebrating 160 years this year. This is an upscale hotel ideally located directly across a beautiful square from the Seville City Hall. It’s centrally located within walking distance to all the sites of Seville. One of the upscale shopping streets is located on the other side of the City Hall minutes from the hotel. It also has paid valet parking which we found ideal as we arrived with a lot of luggage. The staff greeted us politely at the door, took our bags into the lobby and took the car to the parking garage. Check in was quick. We had asked the front desk to recommend a flamenco show to see and they quickly got on the phone and made a reservation for us ensuring a front row table. The hotel is very charming and the room was a good size with a marble encased bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. There is a large free-standing closet with a safe inside. I liked that the closet had an interior light that went on when you opened the doors making is easy to see inside. Our room faced the square but it was hard to see given the lush trees lining our hotel front and the square. As we were only there for one night, we did not have a chance to sample the restaurant, however, upon check-in we were given a voucher for a free drink from the roof top bar. The view from that bar was very nice. The staff were also great. We enjoyed our drinks on the roof while cooling off and resting from a long day on our feet in the city. An ideal hotel for decerning guests looking for an upscale experience. Having said that, you might be surprised at how affordable the rates may be depending on the time of year you...
Read moreBeautiful traditional hotel located perfectly in proximity to Seville highlights. Facilities were wonderful, beds very comfortable, nicely appointed rooms, bathrooms etc. Staff were terrific and helpful. The rooftop terrace is exceptional with phenomenal views of the cathedral and historical buildings Our stay included the day of national power outage in Spain (April 2025). Staff were calm and informed as could be expected (as this outage was unprecedented and no communication or power was possible anywhere - information about what was happening was extremely limited). We felt safe in this hotel. Notably, hotel staff reported to work and performed wonderfully. We sought to know what the hotel's policy or procedure would be if power remained out during night and/or emergency procedures but the staff we spoke to at the reception desk did not seem to know (we were grateful the power turned on about 10pm). A few lessons learned: consider floor level in hotel in emergencies (not a problem for us with no mobility issues), we keep/kept phone chargers ready to use. We still travel with local/regional paper maps. Outside of hotel, cash was the only form of payment accepted for any/all food or other items. Transistor radio would have been helpful if outage was longer (does not depend on power grid). Prepare before your vacation (detailed vacation plan to family prior to departure). A good reminder...
