I stayed at this hotel in Colombo for 3 days after finding it online with seemingly good reviews, but my actual experience was quite the opposite.||Check-In Experience:|Check-in was handled manually, including handwritten registration and paper bills, which felt outdated but manageable.||Room & Noise Issues:|Once I entered the room, it was just okay. Unfortunately, there was ongoing construction work on the upper floors—constant drilling and breaking sounds that gave us headaches. I requested a room change to avoid the noise, and although they initially said the new room would cost extra, they later offered it at the same rate. Still, the noise continued until 5 PM every day, which made it impossible to relax.||Cleanliness & Facilities:|The room had an unpleasant smell, and the corridor wasn’t any better. The bathroom was in poor condition with stained tiles and general dirt. Basic amenities were missing—no toilet paper, no bottled water, and only one towel provided in a double room. For the rate charged, this is unacceptable.||Service & Management:|While the staff seemed to be working, there was no sign of proper management. The property appears to be privately run with minimal oversight. It seemed they mostly rely on regular guests who don’t mind the lack of quality.||During our stay, someone knocked on our door and randomly asked when we would check out—without knowing our room number or name. This felt unprofessional and intrusive. Staff on the floor often engaged in loud conversations, creating even more noise and disturbance for guests.||Unfair Charges:|The hotel charges Rs. 6,500 for a 24-hour stay starting from check-in time. On the final day, I requested an extra 7 hours to wait for my next destination and was shocked to be charged Rs. 5,500. How does 7 hours cost almost the same as 24? It felt like they were just focused on extracting money rather than providing service.||Overall Verdict:|This stay was disappointing from start to finish. Poor hygiene, noise, lack of basic facilities, and money-minded service made it an unpleasant experience. I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this...

Read moreIt's the first Agoda booking and first stay at this hotel. The location was not easy to find and it's the middle of some shops and a bit scared to go with family. As I'm a Sinhalese, there wasn't any sinhala person, everyone's Muslim. But they do understand Sinhala. The place seems to be repairing behind, there wasn't a spacious parking area, maximum two cars could park there at their own location. There are around 8 floors. Lift is available. Inside the room there was TV, Hot and Cool Shower, Cupboard, safe locker with spacious bed and table with chair also an AC unit. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Am 100% not sure about the bed accessories cleanness, and badly there wasn't any soap, driking water or towels luckily I took myself. They do not provide any food by their own, but possible to get from nearby. I went out myself and found a Sinhalese Shop opposite to the hotel, and their prices are very affordable and tastly foods are there. Forgot to say, the Lotus Tower clearly visible to the Hotel. No mosquitos to disturb nights. I feels the place is safe, not sure about the outside! Better not to go outside at nights for walking. Hope hotel will improve after repairs done, also better to fix stair access door closing which makes lot of sound and it's disturbing. Overall, I'm happy with our stay at Metro...
