Lotus Villa — Hotel in Sri Lanka

This is the most disappointing place we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka. We booked for a large room with airco and cooking facilities, but when we arrive they gave us another poorly maintained room (dirty mirror, lots of huge ants walking on the handle of the front gate) without ac and it looked nothing like the pictures online. All for the same price. When I asked for a room with airco, the host simply told me it’s not hot. But with the weather and bad air flow inside, their room is burning hot!! No welcome drinks, she asked if we need a bottle of water, we wasn’t sure if it’s free of charge. On top of that, the noise of the fan on the ceiling keeps me up. I’m writing this review now at 3am in this exact hotel room...This place doesn’t make us feel safe or relaxed, besides it’s really a matter of integrity to give the same room...

“The hotel had a bad smell coming from the kitchen, even though the kitchen itself was clean and well-maintained. There was a lot of mold in the room. The room was very empty—just a bed, a wardrobe, and a nightstand. There was no rug to wipe my feet on, so the bed was always covered in sand. The room was not cleaned properly, and there was sand in the bathroom. Towels were only changed once a week.

Номер соответствовал фотографиям, тихое место, все очень просто, на первый взгляд чисто. Но в номере был ужасный запах - мы так и не поняли, чем это пахнет. Старой едой, плесенью? Попытались привыкнуть, но было невозможно - кружилась голова от спертого запаха. Хозяева на встречу не пошли - не смотря на то, что мы в номере не трогали ничего, просто сказали, что хотим уехать и не будем оставаться из-за запаха - потребовали с нас плату за отмену.

Хотелось пойти на встречу, так как хозяева внезапно остались без жильцов, но было обидно, когда сначала сказали одну цену, потом назвали еще выше. И мы поняли, что нас обманывают, когда они начали объяснять, что эти деньги они якобы заплатят Букингу - хотя как только мы уехали, они отменили бронирование на букинге бесплатно и Букинг подтвердил, что они от отеля никакую...
