Intro||Our quick airport hotel series continues, this time with the Radisson Blu Airport Terminal Hotel, Arlanda Stockholm. We picked this property for one night because of our early flight back to Finland the next day. Around Arlanda, there are plenty of different hotel options, but as Radisson VIP members, this was the obvious choice.||The hotel is located in Terminal 5, which is as convenient as it gets for travelers, close to a few eateries and restaurants, which to our surprise, most were closed quite early in the evening. Still, it’s one of the best options if you have an early flight, since all terminals and gates are within walking distance.||Superior Room – 664 -||We had originally booked a Standard Room but were upgraded to a Superior Room with a partial runway view. The room wasn’t the most modern and showed signs of age, but it still looked nice and felt spacious — more than enough for a one-night stay at the airport.||A small welcome gift was waiting when we arrived: a bag of Olof Viktor’s cardamom crispbreads, drink vouchers, and a welcome card. Nothing extravagant, but a thoughtful touch that made us feel genuinely welcomed.||The room came with the expected amenities: a kettle with coffee, tea, and cacao sachets, plus a large TV with streaming and international channels. Slippers weren’t included at first, but when we asked at reception, they were promptly delivered to our room.||The runway view wasn’t direct from our window but visible through the airport’s large glass windows across the hall. Still, it was a real highlight for me. I always get a childlike joy from watching planes take off and land, and I could have happily sat there for hours with a coffee in hand, enjoying the view.||The king-size bed was classic Radisson quality — soft, comfortable, and perfect for a restful night. A large standing mirror was another useful feature, especially for travelers preparing for business meetings or flights.||The bathroom, with its marble-style finish, looked a little dated but was perfectly fine. To my delight, it included a bathtub, which was exactly what I needed after a long day of travel — a chance to soak, relax, and enjoy a bit of privacy before moving on. Toiletries (shampoo, body wash, moisturizer) came in large bottles, as is common in many hotels since the pandemic.||Gym||The gym was split into two rooms, which made it feel more spacious than it really was. The machine selection was limited and far from modern, but the free weight section was surprisingly extensive. For me, a big plus was seeing heavier dumbbells available — something you don’t always find in hotel gyms.||There were also several treadmills for cardio. While not the most advanced fitness center, it was perfectly adequate for a quick workout, helping you work up a sweat or keep your routine going.||Conclusion||When staying inside the airport, our main expectation is simple: a good night’s sleep on a comfortable bed before an early flight — and this hotel more than delivered.||The lobby was the most modern-looking part of the hotel, with colorful sofas and stylish hanging ceiling lights.|The receptionist stood out as especially friendly; we had a few nice conversations with her during our short stay. We even had a nice conversation with her about Finland and her wish to visit Lapland one day. Her warmth and friendliness made us feel especially welcome.||The room itself wasn’t the most modern, but it was perfectly adequate. The partial runway view was the highlight, while the marble-style bathroom — despite showing its age — was elevated by the presence of a bathtub, which I greatly appreciated. The welcome gift also added a nice touch after a tiring travel day.||The location is ideal for navigating the airport, with everything within walking distance. The breakfast buffet was impressive, with a wide range of choices to start the day without needing to hunt down food elsewhere (unfortunately, I lost the video I filmed of the breakfast selection)||We also tried the hotel restaurant in the evening, where we used our drink vouchers for a cappuccino and orange juice. We paired them with a chocolate panna cotta and a chocolate truffle — both sweet and delicious.||The gym, though limited in machines, was spacious and had everything necessary for a proper workout, especially with its free weights.||All in all, we both enjoyed our stay. If we return to Sweden and need to stay overnight at Arlanda, the Radisson Blu Airport Terminal Hotel will definitely be a place we’d choose again.||This is the written version of a video review made for the Honest Helsinki Hotel Reviews TikTok and...

My exhausted family arrived to use a day room and found a bed bug beside our pillow.
Reception simply told me they would change the sheet - no offer of a new room. The man who came to change the sheet (just the bottom) found two more bugs on the mattress. The mattress isn’t in a cover!
Freaking out and horrifically tired from traveling transatlantic we passed out. Then when leaving we informed the desk of this absurdity. They were apologetic but offered no refund. I was asked to send them photos of the insects and email them.
I sent the emails and four days later a front desk manager wrote to apologize and offered me no refund and not even enough points to get a room.
When pressed on the topic this same front desk manager took days to reply then implied that perhaps I had brought the bugs into the room!! They refused to give me any sort of refund again!
Days after leaving this awful experience a bite I’d gotten became a huge red mess! Surely, I’m foolish for having stayed in this room at all. Yet, don’t we often do foolish things when without sleep and don’t we trust in companies we pay to keep us cared for?
Refunds are not simply so I can get my money back. They are a gesture in saying that the company will not profit from its failure. To blame the guest and refuse such a thing is terrible management of any institution.
Let’s not only talk about the bugs and this absurd way of not remedying this situation. Let’s talk about their banal obsession with policy.
My family of four arrived at 0730 to the hotel asking for a bed. We were told the day rooms start at 0800 so.. nothing to do but sit in the lobby and wait. I asked if a room was available and it was but was still told to wait. So we collapsed on couches to arbitrarily await this pointless 30 minutes. In reply to my message this same rockstar manager simply reminded me of the 0800 policy. Well done.
The only things done FOR me in this mess were empty apologies and notice that the room was cleaned after I’d left. WOW, 🤯 glad that was done after I left.
Simply put, the neighboring hotels in Sky City cannot possibly be as horribly managed and as poorly maintained as this one.
Stay elsewhere!
Particularly don’t stay here with kids!! If something goes wrong with your stay don’t expect them to do anything to...
