In short: Great ski resort in absolute terms, but very pricey. The ski resort is large, very well equipped (constantly investing in the latest available technology) and will cater super well to intermediate and advanced skiers (incl freeriders). Beginners are well served too but could get away with better deals in smaller resorts. What sets it apart is the integration of services in general through the app, and the seamless customer journey (from parking to the slopes). That said, it’s super pricey. It’s more expensive than most other resorts in Switzerland and you feel taken advantage of. Aggressive yield management for the passes (like airline tickets) hurts. And it pinches even more money if you want a fast pass (like at Disney). LAAX is also a place known for investing in its snowboard and freestyle culture, and it shows. Some youngsters are trying a bit too hard to look cool in the queues. One very positive element however is the availability of artificial snow. If you’re traveling from afar, you have higher guarantees of being able to ski in case of a winter heat wave (as in Jan-2023). Overall, a place I can recommend to my friends but preferably with special deals.

I was not impressed with variety of slopes and all the setup despite great weather. All tracks well prepared, weve been in not highest peak season. We were definitely missing blue mild slopes for beginners but also some more challenging and diverse black pistes. There are a few decent red and more advanced blue tracks for practicing otherwise many steep than flat or not easily accessible pistes. I understand that's just how it is but number of kilometers advertised is exaggerated IMO. Anyway we had great stay and everyone found something enjoyable. Nice infrastructure down there with freestyle academy and some variety of restaurants (with days where almost all are closed) Definitely too expensive comparing to much better resorts in Italy Austria or even France.

Living in Switzerland it is easy to get spoiled by the quality of the ski resorts. This season was the first time we visited Laax and we felt in love with the place! The infrastructure is perfect: parking, changing and locker rooms, restaurants and shops, online ticketing system the quality of the lifts, all just perfect. The resort is gigantic, so you’ll never get bored of the slopes, wether you Ski, Snowboard, hike or sleigh! The restaurants have fair prices for the mountains and the staff is friend and helpful. Looking forward to come back.

Disappointing Experience at Laax ski resort

I recently visited laax after seeing their snow report claiming 70 cm of snow. This sounded promising, but the reality was extremely disappointing. Despite the snow depth, only 8 km of slopes were open, and even those felt poorly maintained. It was clear that the resort wasn’t making any serious effort to prepare more runs, even though temperatures were well below freezing and ideal for snowmaking.

The snow cannons were inactive, and it seemed like no additional work was being done to groom or open new slopes. The resort’s communication felt misleading, as they advertised the snow conditions without mentioning that most of the slopes and lifts were closed. This left me and many other visitors feeling cheated.

For a resort to claim they are “open” while offering such limited options and doing little to improve the situation is unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend Laax until they start delivering on their promises and putting more effort into their operations. Save your money and time for a resort that actually cares...

Been coming here for 15 years. Loved every time. It’s turned in to a corporate money sinkhole. Flex tickets are back but they are nit flexible and you have to email someone to make changes. But they won’t make changes. I rode exclusively off piste this time as the pistes were destroyed by 10am. Also only having 41km of pistes open of the 208km, but still charging 90CHF. It’s really unethical. It breaks my heart to see my favorite place in the world turning in to a cookie cutter resort with poor technical skills (snow management) and a quick loss of character. I don’t know if there has been a merger with a different group or a management change but it’s lost it’s soul. Hopefully this will be reflected in decreasing revenue and tighter margins which will ultimately force management to realise this is a special place on earth and it needs to be treated so, not just...
