Well, this isn’t going to be pretty.
Good: Location since it it close to the lift, but it is not ski to door like they advertise, Unless you’re in the building next to the slope, which we were not.
Bad: Where to start... filthy bed when checking in, disgusting dirty, called the reception and informed them at 6 pm no one came, called and informed again at 8 pm no one came.. had to sleep on the couch with my wife. Next day had to walk to the reception and explain to them what happened and they were “shocked” and send someone after. (I say walked to the reception as rocksresort is multiple buildings and depends on how lucky or unlucky you are, is where you’ll be given an apartment)
They actually told us they did not have a tooth bush when I called the reception and that we had to bring one ourselves or buy one, so I bought one the next day, that same day when I passed by the reception to inform them about the filthy bed, out of curiosity I asked why they don’t have toothbrushes for guests, they said they they do actually give toothbrushes to guests. I guess the person there at the time just didn’t want to be bothered.
No PCR Test in laax, one in Flims. But closes whenever they feel like it. (They do have a rapid test center, but I fail to see the point as these are usually self administered and bought from pharmacies, also useless for travel needs)
Staff is next to useless.. they almost refuse to call any company, like the taxi company or the the hospital where you can do a PCR test which is a 30 mins drive away (even though we don’t speak the language) they kept insisting on giving us the number so we can contact them and save them the trouble of the task. (Did I mention I can’t speak the language?)
For the amount of money we spent, could have easily spent it at a much more luxurious resort where they understood the meaning of hospitality and at least made you feel like it was worth it.
Honestly I would not recommend this hotel or ski area do anyone, keep your money and go somewhere else I promise you, it’ll be a much much better...
Read moreThe best ski-in ski-out Hotel we have ever been. Super stylish and cosy. A modern mountain chique! The Apartments are fully equipped with a great kitchen, beds are very comfy. Every apartment comes with a ski booth directly next to the gondola. The service is fabulous, if you need something the staff will make it happen. Lots of restaurant options around the resort and a freestyle skate and trampoline park for those kids who need more than skiing. Skiing is absolutely fantastic. Everyone is super friendly. Its a resort for young and older people and plenty of space for kids. Dogs are also very welcome and there are nice areas to go for a long or short walk with your dog (however, these should be maybe outlined to new guests). Did I mention there is also a Spa, indoor pool (my kids love that) and lots of different saunas? Free bus transport among the villages of Laax, Flims and Falera. Great movie theater in Flims. And foe what its worth, the doctors in Laax are very well equipped and did an outstanding service too. Really the best place in the world for a fun and relaxing...
Read moreAfter a few room moves, we landed up in a newly built block that was much better than the older buildings that were pretty run down and smelled mouldy. The rooms are nicely designed and we loved the rainshower and high quality finishes. Some great restaurants on site although the breakfast at the main hotel is quite basic und uninspiring for the price (and bad coffee!). The activities for older kids are great but it wasn't as welcoming for younger kids. Kids club is remote on the resort, a bit shabby and badly run during the day. The kids club teachers in the evening were fantastic though which allowed us to have a few quiet meals in the evening at least. Tiny playroom available in the main hotel but this is really inadequate for this size of hotel in my opinion: no windows, small amount of toys... Generally, this is advertised as a family hotel but was not nearly as kids friendly as other family hotels we've been to. The place has great potential but overall needs more attention to detail when it comes to make it a true...
