Stunning Views, Great Food, but Room Needs TLC I recently stayed at this hotel and was blown away by its incredible location. The view of Staubbach Falls from the balcony is absolutely breathtaking, and it’s even more spectacular from the bathroom window—a rare treat! The hotel restaurant is a highlight, with outstanding food. The pork schnitzel was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, making it a memorable dining experience. However, the room itself had some issues that detracted from the stay. The main light was non-functional, which was inconvenient, and the bathroom sink felt loose on the wall, making it a bit unsettling to use. The shower leaked slightly onto the floor, and the toilet seat was only marginally attached, which was frustrating. While the small balcony offered endless, jaw-dropping views of the valley, it’s semi-shared with the neighboring room, so it’s not entirely private. A heads-up for future guests: the hotel is all stairs, so if you’re on the 3rd floor like I was, pack light to avoid lugging heavy bags. On the plus side, the room had an electric kettle, which was handy for morning coffee. Overall, the location and food make this place special, but the room maintenance needs attention. I’d recommend it for the views and dining, but be prepared for some quirks.

2/5 Stars "Disappointing Experience Amidst Stunning Scenery" My stay at Jungfrau Lauterbrunnen was a mixed bag. While the hotel's location and breathtaking views of the Alps impressed, the service and amenities fell short. Pros: - Stunning views of the surrounding mountains - Spacious rooms - Excellent restaurant with tasty food - Friendly restaurant staff Cons: - Check-in and check-out processes were disorganized and unattended (especially check-out) - Poor housekeeping: rooms not cleaned for three days - Subpar breakfast quality, not justifying the high cost - Overall service was disappointing Improvement Areas: - Streamline check-in/check-out processes - Enhance housekeeping frequency and quality - Upgrade breakfast options and value - Provide better training for front desk staff Rating Breakdown: - Location: 5/5 - View: 5/5 - Room Size: 4/5 - Service: 1/5 - Breakfast: 2/5 - Value: 2/5 Recommendation: While Jungfrau Lauterbrunnen's location and restaurant are highlights, the subpar service and amenities detract from the experience. Consider alternative options in the area unless improvements are made.

The hotel was much better than I expected after reading a couple of the reviews on Google. I’d argue that the view from the balconies on the front are the best you can get in the village, and the prices are really competitive. Having the reception 100 m away is a con, but one does not regularly contact them anyways except for checking in and checking out. + Great prices + Great views + Okay rooms + Little village, so naturally close to everything important - Poor sound isolation towards the corridor - Below average squeaky beds - Room service came in first day, did not make the beds but changed the towels (which were hanging on the hooks, not thrown on the floor). I wanted the beds made but did not want the towels changed so next day I put out the red “Do not disturb” hanger on the door handle, to no avail. Same thing happened again. ????

We arrived late Tues. (Sept. 19th) . We went into the hotel and there were three envelopes laying on the counter. None of them had our name on it. The only number we had for the place was a number listed on our confirmation. I called and called and called them and they wouldn't answer. We didn't know what to do. A couple was helping us (they were walking back from the pub) look for our key in case it fell behind the counter, but still nothing. I kept trying to call and after about the 15th time (or more), a man answered. I told him the problem and he said he would be there at 8 am. I told him we had reservations and we needed our key. He told me again that he'd be there at 8 am. I told him again that we had reservations and he said, " it's 1 am in the morning", I told him I was aware of that and that I was tired and wanted my room. He told me he'd call me back. After about 30 mins, he called me back and told me to take one of the envelopes (he told me which one to take). So I did and we went to our room. The hotel was older and I'm not complaining about that, but it wasn't fun dragging luggage up three flights of stairs. The next morning we were getting ready and our fuse (breaker) blew. We had no electricity. We told a cleaning lady and (who we think) was a cleaning guy, we left a note on the reception desk (even though we NEVER saw anyone down there), I left a text on the number from the previous night and an email. We came back that night, from a full day of activities, and STILL had no electricity!!!!! I looked at the fuse box, but had no clue how to change out old ones like that. We went to the restaurant/hotel next door and I had to try and find someone to come change the fuse!!! I use a cpap machine and HAD to have electricity. I found a gentleman that was nice enough to come change it for us. I should NOT have had to go and find someone to help!!!! I also found two bugs on the bed, but didn't think anything about it. I just scooped them up with my fingernail and tossed them outside. That night, I felt something crawling on my face and reached up and it squished!! The next morning, I woke up and had blood dots all over my pillow! I started looking around and saw a teeny tiny bug and reached out with my fingernail to move it and it turned into a blood spot and I barely touched it! So I started to freak and googled bed bugs. You guessed it.....It was the two little bugs I "rescued and threw out" the night before! The next day we got trapped in our room! The key wouldn't unlock the door! It was an old door so the only way it would stay shut while you were on the inside was to keep it locked. We tried for at least 30 mins....yelling for someone to help us. Of course, I don't know who I thought that was going to be since there was NEVER ANYONE THERE!!! I finally got it unlocked by using a towel to help turn it and with my friend helping to twist it. What was supposed to be a beautiful and stress free two days was filled with stress and frustration!! It put a major damper on our fun and relaxation. While the view was beautiful, you can find that from all the hotels around there. The couple we met stayed in the hotel next door and said they loved it. I have also texted three different numbers, EVERY SINGLE DAY, since Sept. 26th until today. NO ONE will get back to me. If you decide to ignore all the bad reviews this place has and stay there anyway....just know that you will be staying there with no help and no way to get in touch with anyone. And if you don't like bed bugs.....bring a spray and your own bed sheets...

No reception and no access to help in any way. You arrive at the reception sign only to realize that the door is locked, with no note telling you where to go. I had to read google reviews which revealed that I had to go to the side of the building and up a spiral staircase to enter the building. There is no clerk at the desk, only an envelope with your key. The hotel states there is a pool and a game room and breakfast available for an additional fee. Well, turns out none of that is true lol. No breakfast since the restaurant doesn't seem to be open although it says otherwise on booking and on Google. Also, no game room, just an empty dark hidden 'lounge' area that seems haunted lol! The only pool I found was the one from the flooding water on my balcony. The balcony I had in my 'deluxe' room had no chairs or table and like I said, was flooding with water after rainfall. Furthermore, the bed frame was broken and sloped in the middle with really thin pillows. And finally, I thought the one good thing about the place was the shower, but quickly noticed that the shower head pole was broken so I had to hold the showerhead to shower - incredibly inconvenient and disappointing. Overall, not a comfortable stay at all and not worth the money, this place was not cheap by any means. Definitely...

There is no reception! So if you need something you won’t get it. They have the reception sign at the front of the building, however no one will answer, you have to go to the unmarked door on the side of the building with spiral stairs, and no one is there anyways. I’m not sure why they don’t just put the reception sign on the actual door on the side for people arriving late at night … They claim to have a restaurant with breakfast but it’s never open.. they claim to have a game room, turns out they don’t have any games in the room, it’s now a lounge area that’s dark and depressing. So it’s simply just a room, nothing else.. they will leave an envelope with your key and name on it, and ask to drop it off near the side door at check out. Location is great, but the room kinda sucks. Shower head holder was broken, bed frame was sloped and hurts the back, balcony floods with water and doesn’t drain, so I guess you can say you have your own pool with 2 inches of water ! lol Only reason I gave a 2 star was the house keeping, the lady does show up and clean the room with new towels. The view is good if you get the deluxe room (only 2 rooms are deluxe) can see the water fall from your window. Note the deluxe room on the third floor is the best! Second floor has a building blocking most of...
