Visited for a morning coffee and a couple of sweets before my long walk in slopes of Lauterbrunnen. Very good coffee but most importantly the croissant is really otherworldy! Fresh and so originally flavoured. Owner makes them himself and they are made on the spot. Deserves a visit just for that! I returned after a few hours and had a tasty piadina with ham, melted cheese and tomatoes! The doppio espresso was strong as it should be, while owner was very friendly and accommodating. The place is small and can get very busy with the large number of tourists but deserves your patience. I will definitely return there again in a few weeks time!!

The Airtime Cafe was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Switzerland! First we were just delighted to stumble upon this cafe that was actually open during the area’s down season. Then, we ended up loving it so much that we visited six times in fives days! We would gladly go back in any season! It has a great ambiance and the outdoor seating gives you an amazing view of the the Alps and waterfalls. The staff is friendly and efficient. We loved their fresh juices, smoothies, Cafe Lattes, croissants and every dessert that we tried there. (The monster cookie was the best cookie I ever ate!) Go! You won’t be disappointed!

Nice little cafe located on the main street passing through the town of Lauterbrunnen. We stopped by to get a coffee/hot chocolate and a bite to eat. Coffee was hot and good! They also had some food option (both hot and cold). We also tried the ham and cheese toast and croissant which were good. Note that they don’t warm the pastries (cakes or croissants, etc). Staff were friendly and helpful. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is nice, have something while admiring the beauty of this amazing town in Switzerland! Totally worth it!

Ridiculously overpriced. Extremely bad service. One of the most mean and rude waiter i have seen in my life. I would definitely not recommend this place.i wonder why slow food join a ‘cafe’ like this.

The moment we entered the cafe, we were treated by a staff who felt like he wanted to give up. One of my friend first ordered a Black coffee and the barista question his knowledge on coffee in such a pompous way that my friend was confused and felt threatened. Right after that, I ordered a cappuccino and he asked me what type of cup i wanted. As a guest, naturally i asked what are the different types of sizes because its the first time I’ve visited the place. The barista rolled his eyes and showed me the two cup sizes as if I’m person who is clueless on the knowledge of cups. Then while we finished our drinks and snacks, we were again greeted with rudeness and when my other friend told she’ll pay by card, he kept on telling us it has to be a debit card payment and we told him exactly 3 times it was. In the end he rolled his eyes and said that its a minimum 10chf. And once we agreed he looked like he was about to blow and said an unapologetic thank you without a smile. We are students of a hospitality school and we know a bit about service. I am a person who doesn’t complain, because we know its not an easy job, but the service we received was unacceptable. I don’t even mind paying higher price than what usually supposed to be. It is just the person who is at the front door, who’s attitude gave it away. I would suggest try fixing your staff because people like this can be reason for downfall of...

I visited this café recently, and while the food itself was fine, the overall experience left a bad taste.

What stood out most was the difference in how the owner interacted with guests. German- or Swiss-German-speaking customers were greeted with smiles, warm service, and friendly conversation. In contrast, non-German speakers were met with coldness, minimal interaction, and what felt like barely concealed irritation. The difference in tone, body language, and overall treatment was hard to ignore.

With tourism growing, especially in places like Lauterbrunnen, you either need to build the infrastructure and mindset to welcome diverse visitors, or be honest and tell people this place is not for them. You can’t invite people in, take their money, and then act as though they’re the problem.

If you’re a tourist, especially one who doesn’t speak German, manage your expectations. If you’re the owner, it might be time to reflect on what kind of experience you’re...

I’ve visited Airtime Cafe twice, once in August 2023 and most recently in June 2024. While the coffee and pastries are great, the customer service leaves much to be desired.

My experience has been blemished both times by the attitude of the cashier. The man at the register, a tall, thin individual with tattoos, has been extremely rude on both occasions. When I politely asked him in German if he spoke English, he curtly responded in English that he only spoke German, which seemed contradictory and dismissive.

Despite our politeness, he acted as if our presence was a disservice. It was evident that he was not happy to serve us, possibly because he perceived us as tourists, even though we live in Switzerland. Regardless of whether one is a tourist or a local, the service provided should be fair and courteous.

While I appreciate the quality of the coffee and pastries, the poor customer service significantly detracts from the...
