Ridiculously overpriced. Extremely bad service. One of the most mean and rude waiter i have seen in my life. I would definitely not recommend this place.i wonder why slow food join a âcafeâ like this.
The moment we entered the cafe, we were treated by a staff who felt like he wanted to give up. One of my friend first ordered a Black coffee and the barista question his knowledge on coffee in such a pompous way that my friend was confused and felt threatened. Right after that, I ordered a cappuccino and he asked me what type of cup i wanted. As a guest, naturally i asked what are the different types of sizes because its the first time Iâve visited the place. The barista rolled his eyes and showed me the two cup sizes as if Iâm person who is clueless on the knowledge of cups. Then while we finished our drinks and snacks, we were again greeted with rudeness and when my other friend told sheâll pay by card, he kept on telling us it has to be a debit card payment and we told him exactly 3 times it was. In the end he rolled his eyes and said that its a minimum 10chf. And once we agreed he looked like he was about to blow and said an unapologetic thank you without a smile. We are students of a hospitality school and we know a bit about service. I am a person who doesnât complain, because we know its not an easy job, but the service we received was unacceptable. I donât even mind paying higher price than what usually supposed to be. It is just the person who is at the front door, whoâs attitude gave it away. I would suggest try fixing your staff because people like this can be reason for downfall of...
Read moreI visited this café recently, and while the food itself was fine, the overall experience left a bad taste.
What stood out most was the difference in how the owner interacted with guests. German- or Swiss-German-speaking customers were greeted with smiles, warm service, and friendly conversation. In contrast, non-German speakers were met with coldness, minimal interaction, and what felt like barely concealed irritation. The difference in tone, body language, and overall treatment was hard to ignore.
With tourism growing, especially in places like Lauterbrunnen, you either need to build the infrastructure and mindset to welcome diverse visitors, or be honest and tell people this place is not for them. You canât invite people in, take their money, and then act as though theyâre the problem.
If youâre a tourist, especially one who doesnât speak German, manage your expectations. If youâre the owner, it might be time to reflect on what kind of experience youâre...
Read moreIâve visited Airtime Cafe twice, once in August 2023 and most recently in June 2024. While the coffee and pastries are great, the customer service leaves much to be desired.
My experience has been blemished both times by the attitude of the cashier. The man at the register, a tall, thin individual with tattoos, has been extremely rude on both occasions. When I politely asked him in German if he spoke English, he curtly responded in English that he only spoke German, which seemed contradictory and dismissive.
Despite our politeness, he acted as if our presence was a disservice. It was evident that he was not happy to serve us, possibly because he perceived us as tourists, even though we live in Switzerland. Regardless of whether one is a tourist or a local, the service provided should be fair and courteous.
While I appreciate the quality of the coffee and pastries, the poor customer service significantly detracts from the...
