Wulai Hot Springs — Hotel in New Taipei

We booked this no frill onsen inn through Agoda. The owner is responsive to our enquiry through Agoda app. We only stayed 1 night and do not expect much since most people usually spend only a few hours in the onsen. The decoration in the room is dated, but the main lobby area comes with a very good sound system plus water dispenser. On arrival, the owner allowed us to leave our luggage with them first and also allow us early check in at 1600hrs, usual is 1730hrs. They also upgraded us to a bigger room. The hotel is generally clean, we had a room that faced the river and old street. There is a 24hours 7-11 just right opposite and walking a few steps, you can reached Wulai Scenic Train. The area is peaceful at night. The onsen bathroom is huge and all basic amenities are provided. Breakfast was nice too. There are some inconvenience points to note, the toilet and wash basin are separated. The toilet is isolated right by the door, the wash basin is located inside the onsen area, so every time if you need to wash hand you will need to walk to the onsen area. There is also a constant bothering sound from the Aircon that comes on every maybe 15mins (not sure what caused it). The Aircon indicator light can be quite bright too if all lights in the room are switched off, the above may not be that great for light sleeper. Overall, we think that it is a great place to stay if you like to enjoy onsen and need a place to rest...

The room was old and out dated, I mean for the money it is not worth the price!!!! The only thing that is close to the old town walking distance! Hotel room, not a single hook for the tower, screen door is broken, toilet is dirty,and the smell of some one smoking in the hallway or in their bedroom? Not acceptable!!!! Ask the receptionist for the smoking issue he doesn’t know? And he doesn’t even care to check!!!! No parking!!!!!!!!!! Oh well I also think the rooms are rent by the hour so we are not able to check in after 6-7 pm!!!!! I would not recommend it to anyone ! The pictures is definitely not the same when...
