Here's an unfiltered review. We booked this place as it was the cheapest in Ximen during our dates. Only after booking (non-refundable) did we see the negative reviews, so it's not like we could back out. The reception is in a massage shop. The woman was friendly and was waiting for us. We paid in cash, the correct amount as the booking website. She took us to a building a few doors down. As with many if not all buildings in this area, they are old. And given the climate, yes there are cockroaches. We've been to even the cleanest of places and hotel and have had a cockroach here and there. While this is almost inevitable, I do think this place could do with a bit more cleanliness, traps, or insect poison. Every day we found one or two small ones and also mini ones on the floor or in the bathroom. The room was sufficient for what we wanted: a place to sleep. Funnily enough, slept like a baby here. The location is great, in the middle of Ximen. While I'm not saying this place was great, don't expect luxury if paying the cheapest price. But I do wish they were a bit more attentive to cleanliness in the...
Read moreDo not be a patron of their non-existent service, until they improve their service and facilities. I'm a cheap traveller but I don't think the filthiness of this place is worth the money you save. WARNING: only take this room if you're desperate, otherwise keep looking. This business thrives on painstakingly cheap desperate people like me, I regret supporting this business. PROS: The room was private and close to some shopping. The place was cheaper than other other hostels and those that are even shared dormitories. CONS:The room we got was very dirty. Room was compact and smelled really musty like there was mold on the walls or something. I didn't want to put my stuff down anywhere because it felt so dirty. The window sill's dust built up to a point they already hardened. I'm pretty sure they don't wash the sheets regularly. There was some hair and dust bunnies on the sheets. I wore a disposable raincoat to sleep just in case. My friend got a bunch of bug bites. At least we got hot water...the slow WiFi, sometimes got disconnected. The walls were thin. Kind of far from MRT but close...
Read moreIt's a hotel that takes a long time to check in. I lost about 1 hour. The staff kept asking how much I paid for the room and then charged an additional NT$1400 for the room even though I had already paid about 1200++ on Agoda. Taiwan I know why it takes so long to check in because the hotel charges extra. The staff said you would get a better room than what you paid for on Agoda. There would be a window and there would be nice things in the room. I was very angry because I wasted time checking in and wasting time traveling. The accommodation room is different from the one you checked in. You have to travel further. There are four keys to enter the hotel in the building. The staff said it's for security but I think it's a waste of time. Do people have to use four keys to enter the room? Normally, at a good hotel, just using one key card is enough, For the price I paid, I could have stayed at a better hotel. And I think I'm not the only one who got charged more. It is a hotel that is not suitable for...
