Happiness Inn — Hotel in Taipei

If you’re trying to save money and want a place to stay that’s near the station. Don’t stay here. Stay somewhere else. I’ve had 13 bug bites in our 3 night stay in this place. I wish we had just paid more money somewhere else with a comfortable and clean bed.

Additionally, everything looks old. The place was not nice and tidy compared from where I stayed in Taichung. There’s not much room to move around, and there’s two of us staying in one room and my partner is 6’3.

There is NO KETTLE to make coffee in the room. It’s in the lobby area on the first floor.

AC is working fine but the interior is just old and horrible looking. I feel like there are cockroaches around when we sleep.

Well, I guess this is what we get for trying to save money. But never again! 🙅🏻‍♀️👎🏼

The only good thing here is that it’s nearby the station and Ximending Walking Street. It has good Wifi connection. But the lady when we arrived is not that friendly. She won’t even smile.

The room is extremely narrow, and upon entering, there is an overwhelming musty odor. Black mold covers the walls, as well as the hairdryer, remote control, and showerhead.

There is a standalone split-type air conditioner, but it cannot be operated with the remote control. Worse yet, visible black mold is growing inside the unit.

Despite having an independent air conditioner, a strong cigarette smell periodically fills the room, likely seeping in through the bathroom’s ventilation system.

Soundproofing is practically nonexistent—you can clearly hear conversations, showers, and other noises from the neighboring rooms.

The door is very difficult to open, and it’s hard to tell if it has locked properly. Cellular signals are terrible, and the Wi-fi speed is sooo low, with huge ping and packet lost.

Water pressure is sufficient, which is a plus, but hot water sometimes takes up to 30 seconds to...

I stayed at this hotel on early of October 2015.The room we stayed in was Family Room (2 double Bed).The hotel is very location wise as it is located 5-6 minutes away from Ximen MRT Station. ||I enjoyed staying here because : ||- the room is same as what as shown in the website. ||- they allowed us to do early check-in as we arrived before the check in time (subject to hotel occupancy). ||- Wifi connection is very good||- hotel provide dining area in front of the entrance. so we can enjoy our meal while watching TV.
